A lot of it makes sense. It's not hard to figure out what teams may be looking for and who they may target. If I'm the Sabres though, unless I'm getting a big return for Sekera right now, he's not one of the D men they move. He's been very good so far this year IMO. I would think they'd look to move Leo before Sekera.

I tank Sekera would make a nice transition to wing.

I think it's a bull what he posts about the Sabres, Darcy won't give up anything if that is true.
- SABRES 89

Darcy doesn't trade during the season. He always waits until the deadline. The most recent trade they've made during the season was Paille to the Bruins a few weeks into the season in 09.

Why? Sekera has been one of our best defensemen this year. Why move him up front?

His offensive moves usually are what baffle me. He tends to hang onto the puck to long and then shoots when the open lane closes up. It's super frustrating. Probably because I know he has good hands and can make good plays.

I have a pair of Sabres tickets for the Florida game on Sunday afternoon, in the 300's, at the end where the Sabres shoot twice. I'm not going to be able to go, but if anyone would like to take them off my hands for what they cost me, send me a message.
- mikeinbuffalo

I already tried that. I have some as well.

Im not saying he isn't value me as a d man. But I think he could contribute well on offense up front. Not staggering numbers but decent ones. Dudes got some skills.

Thinking about doing an Atlanta trip to see the Braves. I'll keep you posted if I do. Trying to work out some of the details.

Yeah he does. I think that's why I get so frustrated with a lot of the things he does in the offensive zone. I think it's best to leave him where he's currently at. He's been pretty solid back there.

Yeah, we know!
He usually waits until the season is over, and the playoffs are a pipe-dream, then he makes his move.

I chalk a lot of those mistakes up to the fact the he isn't confident someone has his back defensively in those situations.

My season seats run about $2100, but I sell more than half of the games to my friends for the season ticket rate. I go to the Toronto games obviously.

You call them ignorant, but you're ignorant for thinking it was suspendable.

Sigh.

The knowledgeable bloggers and excellent writers on this site (there are some: Engels, Yost), have to wake up and realize their blogs are on the same site as self-proclaimed 'homers' (like yourself) who can't look past their own team and understand the game through a larger scope.

I see you made the mistake like many others today of actually reading the blog. Those of us that know how Garth is, know not to read what he posts.

I like Yost's. His are usually pretty solid. But I tend to only read them when they pertain to something in the Northeast. Not just the Sens.

Flyers and LA Kings aggressively shopping for a defenseman. Sekera and Leopold are being rumored as options; also hearing that Philly contacted Montreal regarding Kaberle.
Diaz has been attracting interest as well from LA and Philly. 7 points in 5 games, is it time to sell high for the Habs? Hearing Penner and Gagne rumored as possible options.
Sabres and Flyers placed calls to the Anaheim Ducks last weekend regarding Bobby Ryan and Perry. Ryan is unavailable and price for Perry still considered too high for a possible rental player.
Hearing Canucks inclined more towards keeping Luongo rather than trading him. With Eddie Lack out for 6 months, unless the Canucks land a backup in the Luongo deal, he is not going anywhere.

Most of this is actually a lot more likely than the garbage Eklund makes up!

Have you ever seen a guy want the refs to jump in so bad in their lives?

Weber skated down the ice to confront Brown when nobody on the ice did including Scott. Yet he gets railed on for it ?

Not to mention in only 1 game played, Weber had the best defensive play by any Sabres dman this year on that sliding block on the 2 on 1.

I can think of 3 different dmen on this team, that Weber would, should and I hope will be playing in front of every game.
