He signed a 2 year/$5m per deal with Avangard. He re-signed there for a third year but I don't know for how much. He made a ton when he signed with the Rags. Over $9m+ for 6 years or so. He owns HC Kladno as well.

I'm really surprised it took this long for a suggestion to be made to bag skate the team. Completely overused and overrated as a Coaching tool. All that would accomplish is to tire out the team, and it wouldn't solve any of the issues they have. It's a waste of time and energy. This team would be much better off using the limited practice time it has. To use PP and PK drills. Breakout drills. And puck battle drills. That would all go much further to help this team get out of it's funk. then an archaic bag skate.

You're right. We should go out and fill the room full of Teddy Bears and let them hug it out.

I agree.

As Bill illustrated, this team has so much to fix, a simple bag skate won't get it done and would probably solicit eye rolls from the players.

I don't think he's a angry guy.. so i don't see it happening...

But i can dream

If I was Bryz..i'd make it happen, like after a scrum in front just jump in, stir the pot, wait for the goalie to skate the length of the ass, then unleash a beating on him

I honestly don't know what to think anymore. I knew this team had holes coming in, and they do, but I really didn't think they would ever look this bad. The effort isnt there and now the team has a goalie who, to this point, is playing like we need him too. Giroux's problem has nothing to do with the "C". It has to do with who missing from his line. Jagr was the perfect compliment to G. His power and skating ability and skill gave G more room to work. Now, teams are just focused on him cause I dont think to many teams are scared of Matt Read ( good player just not top line player). Honestly this team last year had the young players in roles they were comfortable with (Defensive specialist, second tier scoring threat, etc). They were needed for specific roles as the gain confidence playing in the NHL, but not to completely carry the teams offensive load. Without Jagr, Hartnell for an month and Briere still reeling from wrist surgery the team has put all the scoring on G, read, coots, and simmmer.... I just dont see it you need some veteran scoring threat and this team just doesnt have one right now.

Bag skates don't replace practice...

I am starting to think that you guys have never played hockey... just the threat of a bag skate alone use to piss us off in college if we were down...

Nothing worse then throwing up at 6am from skating too much

The flyers looked tired and burned out last night.....

Passing looks awful and Flyers running into other Flyers during a PK??

This team looks like a mess

NJ succeed
- Flyersgod

I wish the Flyers had their success, but the Devils success doesnt make me sick. They play hard, and even when they dont look good on paper they are guaranteed to play you hard.. Their success is much more palatable than the Pens.

My favourite?

Remind the guys that they are playing for what's on the front of their jerseys, not the back.

The psychology behind it is one thing but the mentality of players in the NHL is quite different from every other level (bigger egos in the NHL). Such a rudimentary disciplinary tactic might cause players to turn against Laviolette and the rest of the coaching staff which is the LAST thing we need. So I guess my point is, why risk that?

Was your dry land is full gear? We use to have to get in full gear with out skates, and run around the parking lot holding our equipment bag with skates and clothes in them.

Man i hated that...

I don't know if it was the ice or the team, but the Flyers' passing last night was just....woof.

Maybe that speaks to lack of practice.

I get that side. There are times where it does damage. But when the goal is to win, and win at all costs, why not risk it?

They have nothing to lose at this point. In my opinion... i'm from a different time i guess...
