so your dream scenario is to not have kaleta or hecht? So kills penalties in yoru dream scenario? Hecth Scott Kaleta can be my 4th line all day long
- hubie

In my dream scenario only one of those players is not in the lineup for Armia, leaving the other 2 to kill penalties. Or any of the other 9 players available Pommer, Vanek, Ott, Stafford, Leino, Hodgson being the first 6 I would send out before Kaleta or Hecht. Hell I wouldn't mind seeing a 6'2 205 lb. center sucking up some space on the PK, not like he really has to hit anyone, just needs to take away passing lanes. Intercept a pass then send some dirty sauce down the ice to his streaking PK partner. If we're dreaming...

Well, I have no idea who we would trade. I assume if someone like Stafford went, then we would move Leino or Ott up on to the Ennis line, leaving a space for the returning winger to take their place. You can't talk trades and assume EVERYONE is still going to be on the team after the trade. like i said, there's really no point in speculating who we could trade and who we could get, because that's just spinning our own wheels. The reality is, that's Regiers job and i'd like to see him get moving on it.....

Wouldnt mind these line combos (Next year)

Vanek-Cody-Pommer
Foligno-Ennis-Stafford
Ott-Grigo-Armia
Kaleta-Girgensons-Scott

Lets be honest armia and girg arent up till enxt year hetch wont be resigned.....Right i mean like he was only signed cause leino and gerbe were hurt....right im not crazy right.

not a chance in hades. Could have packaged something with staff gotten a late first gotten Malcom Subban which then in turn brings Pernell Karl in 2 years.

Would anyone have been upset Staff for say Arthurs Lindback they cant score staff used to score

This all started from me saying I'd like to see Armia up here this year if we could get him up in time, so it would be this year..... What makes them our best pk guys? Kaleta might be... Hecht definitely is not.

I'd say they are all pretty close to even. Have you seen Vanek on the PK because when he's out there he is usually far and away the best PK but Ruff knows he has to save his legs...

At any given moment I'd rather have someone on the ice that can play D and make something happen. Not just skate around the ice like a drunk headless chicken (see: Hecht, Kaleta).

Oh ok...

UNIONDALE, N.Y. (AP) -Thomas Vanek is becoming a penalty-killing specialist for the Buffalo Sabres.

Vanek scored twice, including a short-handed goal to help the Sabres beat the New York Islanders 7-1 on Monday afternoon.

"That was my first short-handed goal at any level of hockey," Vanek said. "It was good."

Buffalo coach Lindy Ruff said he made a deal with Vanek before the season started.

"I told him if he worked hard and kept his legs moving, he would see penalty-killing time," Ruff said. "My goal is to make him the best two-way player in hockey, and he has the potential to do that."

THIS is kind of what I was thinking. I also think the Ennis/Stafford/Foligno line needs to wake up or shake up. Only guy I really don't want to see leave that line is Foligno. Anyone could have Ennis or Stafford + what ever else for the right return for us....Of course, I agree with everyone else that we're probably not going to see Zegmus and Armia this year and may be in to next year...

so this is your theory vanek who is out best pk guy...... ruff is saving his legs while other teams play their goal scorers on the pk unit cause well they can kill it are wrong. I mean were talking

J.Staal, Parise,Koivu,Getzlaf,Perry,Pavelski,Marleau, COuture, Nash,Callahan...........what am I missing?

I mean he is so good at it hes been out there for 50 seconds all year. Take the darcy/Lindy glasses off.

I could pull 5 guys out of retirement who can kill a penalty better than him.

Vanek is not good on the PK. He cant even play defense 5 on 5, why put him out there on the pk?

Those guys you named all have better stamina than my man Vanek. duh.

If I had the darcy/Lindy glasses on wouldn't this mean that I don't think he is good enough to play on the PK. You're logic I'm using here, that Lindy doesn't think he is good enough to get PK time.

Those same 5 guys who would be better than Vanek would also be better than anyone on our team at killing penalties... So it's a moot point.
