no, sorry i don't think it's too early at all, not to the people who have been watching him everyday... - SpoiledByOil
HAHA, everyday? you mean all 6 games he's played in the NHL?
should we compare yak to stamkos then.
perhaps montreal should start comparing galchenyuk to crosby, and tarasenko should be put in the same class as malkin.
if you think that the kid should be compared to a perenial allstar like yandle, then all i have to say to you is
is he good? sure
does he have the P O T E N T I A L to be great? absolutely (and i spelled that out for you deliberately)
can you say he's a premier puckmover, SIX GAMES INTO HIS CAREER? A B S O L U T E L Y N O T!!!!!! (again, spelled out deliberately)
the kid had great numbers in the AHL, big friggin deal, it's the AHL. he's looked pretty good with edmonton, but that's about it, pretty good.
you need to realize that potential is not the same as being a great player right now. |

when did Hall's trade value just magically drop below RNH's and Eberle's? |
|
|
|
not defending him, Whitney now is not even a shadow of his former self, but he was one of the, if not the highest scoring defenseman in the league from the lockout till his injury - SpoiledByOil
not sure what you're point here is. whitney was putting up those numbers the same time that cheechoo was scoring 50, alfredsson and kovalev were putting up 90pt seasons, and giguere was one of the best goalies in the league.
refresh my memory, but i'm pretty sure a few things have changed since then. |

really, perhaps the "assclown" comment should be directed at the guy who's saying that j. schultz is as good as yandle right now, and who enjoys calling out everybody who doesn't agree with him.
atleast my points are valid, and realistic. |

That D is hurting in DET. Maybe we package up Marcanin for Franzen? No idea if DET would go for that or what Franzens value is currently. - yaktalksback
Thats not nearly enough for franzen but his value isnt too high i think. I like youre thinking though. Franzen would be perfect for the Oilers, a big physical winger to go in the top six and provide veteran leadership of a past cup winner. |

So....did my good buddy Oil Tycoon change his display pic as promised!? |

Because the asking price is low for a guy like you describe
Not to mention he is super valuable on a Detroit team that needs his grit/size as much as the oilers do.
Not gonna happen, not for this Marcincin or whoever you are talking about who nobody outside of the Oilers organization even knows about. |

better to have sound reason and logic, with poor delivery, then to just flat out fail everywhere.
but you're right, i was probably a little over the top.
that being said, if i said silfverberg was as good as eberle, you would have flamed me just as bad. |

Franzen is going to cost Marincin, 1st rounder and Gagner. That's if they even want Gagner. Regardless that will be the package top 6 forward, prospect and a 1st. Or top 4 d-man, prospect, and a 1st. - Lahey
I think thats franzens value 5 years ago, hes like 33 now. I think you could get it done for gagner, hemsky and 2nd or decent prospect. Although Det might not want that as it really takes away any size in their own top six.

this was his post:
Shultz MIGHT be your yandle. it's a little premature to put him at the same level as a premier puckmover in the league. that's like saying Yakupov is your stamkos.
schultz has a buttload of potential, but he is by no means a sure thing. if you ahve the chance to add a yandle, for the right price, you jump all over it.
- sensarmy_11

so, tell me again who needs to work on their reading comprehension |

I think you misinterpreted me. I said that the prospect that guy mentioned isnt close to enough for Franzen. And the "isnt too high" comment was more of a relative statement as a lot of trades being thrown around here are for young stars. Your right about Det not really wanting to move him though, they need as much grit as they can get in their top 6. |

Yet, if you said Silverberg was your Eberle that would be fine.
I would understand what you mean. I would not be posting nonsense that your an an idiot that thinks Silverger is as good as Eberle.
It's all in reading comprehension. Just because you cannot understand the meaning of what someone posts doesn't mean your interpretation of it is what was posted. |
