Has anyone explained to this genius that trading Yandle would drop Phoenix below the cap floor? - sanfordnson
Maybe you should explain that to your genius blogger |

Id rather try and explain trigonometry to a cat. Its why the whole thing is stupid and pointless to talk about. We only have a few salaries that would put them back above and two of them are salaries that the Oil will not be moving. |

Like I said, I have not been following DET and wasn't sure what his current value is or what his role was on the team. Guess he's still playing at a high level. A couple yrs back his game had seemed to slipped a bit. I guess he bounced back. |

Big, physical, defensively responsible guy that is a consistent 50-60 pt getter. Hes 33 and thats about the only thing that might hurt his value a bit. |

Shultz MIGHT be your yandle. it's a little premature to put him at the same level as a premier puckmover in the league. that's like saying Yakupov is your stamkos.
schultz has a buttload of potential, but he is by no means a sure thing. if you ahve the chance to add a yandle, for the right price, you jump all over it. - sensarmy_11
no, sorry i don't think it's too early at all, not to the people who have been watching him everyday... |

(frank) Franzen- there are others that could be had without parting with our 1st rounder plus top 6 ++++++++... as I dont know if Franzen works for this team... On the other hand IF we were in the sweeps for a Yandle then by all means you would have to come up with an offer that would see some significance going back... That being said- there are a tonne of trades that go down- and the returns are nothing what some people on here forecasted... Some of the poop within this thread is simply way way out there... |

That was probably more to do with him being in the Green party. If he was running to lead that he has to have some good stuff in his house. |

The only thing about Franzen that doesnt work for me is his possible longevity. Hes the EXACT type of player our top 6 could use. |

are you actually comparing ryan whitney to keith yandle? a guy who's injured all the time, and who barely cracks the top 4 on most teams in the league, to a guy who's one of the top PMD's in the league? - sensarmy_11
not defending him, Whitney now is not even a shadow of his former self, but he was one of the, if not the highest scoring defenseman in the league from the lockout till his injury |

Serious question- do you all feel we have a playoff team after watching the first 5 games??? Personally I dont think its that much of a stretch if we are healthy compared to previous years... |

Not just yet. Theyve show moments but still need to play a full 60 minutes, stop the penalties, avoid the facepalming giveaways and score 5 on 5.
Only 5 games. Lets talk playoff chances at the 25 game mark. |

In a short season everyone is in at this point.
Look at CBJ, they are getting good goaltending from Bob. If they stay away from Mason they have a chance at staying competitive for a good chunk of the year.

No doubt- I was surprised they beat out the Preds and Stars... I thought everyone wrote them off... good on them... further is anyone else surprised Montreal is doing so well??? I sure as hell am... ? Markov in and Gomez and Subban out of the line up may have helped? |
|
|
|
@DarrenDreger: Y. Danis cleared Waivers. Carolina places Boychuk, SJ places McLaren, and NJ places Janssen on Waivers.

Worth mentioning that Danis is go to PHX with the team. He could very well be the backup tonight. |

That is the thing- we all hope Dubey is that kind of goalie... sadly he is not and I am not too sure will ever be... |
