Myers already skates well. Chara literally had to learn how to skate. IMO their paths to development couldnt be more different.

really? i actually think scott has played quite well so far. hes just getting flack for being a goon without actually seeing what hes doing on the ice.

teams werent exactly shaking in fear at the adam mair/andrew peters/taylor pyatt trio in 05-06, that team was competitive.

the problem isnt having these players on your team, its how much icetime the coach is giving them.

He's not a bad player though, that's why I'm confused when people say "should we wait for him". He's pretty good, good enough to get 20min a game and contributes offensively. He's nowhere near close to a bust or anything. Is he overpaid right now? Probably but in 2 years he could be underpaid

Derek Roy was supposed to be. Pominville was supposed to be. Hell, even Ales Kotalik was supposed to be a bargain by the time his contract matured.

Upton will either make or break that team.. if they have the lockerroom leadership to keep him in place it will be great.. otherwise.. you are looking at Jeff Carter in CLB all over again.

Pominville is a bargain. Let's not forget this organization is the same dipsh*ts who waived him. Roy was a 70 pt center. It's risk/reward. They lost out on not negotiating with Drury or Breire before their contracts were up, and Darcy got burned. If he would have done to Vanek what he did with Myers we would have more cap space than we do right now.

the problem isn't having them it is how much they play and the fact that we aren't improving whats in front of them to make them not matter as much.

I have Armia playing 15 games or so in the AHL this season.. and then playing with us in Buffalo full time next season as the BEST CASE SCENARIO...
