Millers limited NTC makes me think Colorado is a no thank you choice for Miller. Pominville has the same NTC. - dadeadhead
Im sure Miller would be okay with any Cali team and prolly Detroit as well. If your gonna trade miller this season is the best time to do it. Although with the olympics coming up next season he will prolly play amazing next season |

Miller is worth a top prospect goalie and a top 6 forward easily. - Smittyx36
But who..... has that willing to trade that doesn't have a goalie currently...
We could get like Niemi and Pavelski probably...
maybe... Kane and Crawford...
from Detroit we could probably get Howard and Filppula
LA has no need for him so Bernier is out..
He won't go to Florida...
I don't want him in Philly...
I wouldn't mind Varlamov back from Colorado but I don't see it approved by him.
Maybe Calgary would trade us Iginla.. their GM is that dumb. |

Honestly the Philly trade has backfired on them so far . Couterier is obviously going to be really good but Schenn looks very average, JVR is a much better player than Luke Schenn and they have no defense. Not to mention the 2 guys they traded have a Stanley Cup. - sbroads24
I would never have traded JVR for Schenn but they did so out of need.
As far as LA winning the Cup, not saying they didn't deserve it but Quick and Brown won that Cup. Carter did have a solid playoffs though. |

IMO we need to be under the radar for a year or 2 and draft well and make some moves to clear some cap space. Then when our young guys are ready to make a differece (Mcnabb, Armia, Grigo, Myers, Girgensons) Make a FA splash ala Minnesota t |

on ruff-
one of the most interesting quotes i read last year was from ken hitchcock after he took over the blues bench and went on a hot streak.
after being canned from cbus and turning around st. louis he was asked what the difference was.
he said (and im paraphrasing) "i realized that it was not 1999 any more. brett hull and joe nieuwendyk are not sitting on my bench any more. this is a different type of player. i had to loosen my grip a bit and let the kids play"...
this is lindy's biggest drawback. he is a dinosaur in todays game. the players dont relate to him, they dont skate through walls for him. they play afraid to make a mistake (or else matt ellis will get their ice time!!).
as a long time teacher i can attest that the age group of this new core does not respond to lindy's style and i dont see him changing any time soon.
i love lindy and im old enough to remember him as a player (loved him then too). but its time... |

Just read the box score from the game last night. Grigorenko scores his first goal and he still only gets 10 minutes on the ice? Only Ellis and Scott had less (not counting Kaleta). Really baffling stuff. |

i could get whoever i wanted for him in 12, but in 13 if the player isnt on the "giving away" list, its hard to trade for them i find.
its okay though i just trade everyone else for first round picks and draft mackinnon!
i also downloaded the roster revamp project for it and its so much better. |

he didnt get another shift in the 3rd after he scored!! there was a late icing (under a minute left) with an offensive zone face off and lindy sends ellis/hecht/foligno over the boards!!!
mind bottling!!! |

Oh yeah and the steal of a trade Zhitnik for Coburn they made that year too. - dadeadhead
That's my biggest problem with Regier. He held on to Zhitnik and never wanted to trade him and Philly gets Coburn for him. Darcy would be horrible at Poker, doesn't know when to fold his hand and wait for the next pair of cards |

he got replaced by matt ellis in the last shift of regulation for that line. its really impossible to defend ruff on some things nowadays |

Solid... and interesting.
St. Louis could win it all this year.. San Jose will go into their usual late season/playoff swoon.. |

IMO he and his agent know Darcy would never move him in conference. So figure he names all his no thank you choices in the west. LA, SJ, Ana, Det, Van, Chi, and Minny would be my guess as ok teams for him. The Cali teams for obvious reasons. Vancouver cause they have their own problems in net to worry about. Minny cause they have zero space to take him on. And let's face it LA has zero use for Miller with having Quick.
So it really leaves only Ana, Chi, SJ, and Det to work deals out with. |

He had a spell in the second where they scored three goals with him on the ice, and Lindy nailed him to the bench for a while after. I don't think those goals were particularly his fault, but it seems easier for Ruff to bench the kid than to pin those goals on our goalie, our defense, or the veteran on that line who was brought in for his 2-way acumen. |

roster revamp project?? - JVince11
http://www.operationsport...-13-ratings-revamped.html
edit: this makes overalls much more lopsided. superstars and 3rd liners arent 10 overall apart on this, and 5/6th d are like ~75, ahl'ers are mostly high 60s, and prospects are high 60's with more accurate potential ratings.
it makes it a lot better, star players score more points because defense/goalies arent as good.
only downside is that players demand contract based on their overall compared to other players, so an 80 overall center will want 4 million a year because hes a "2nd line scorer" |
