Impossible, the Mets ARE the dumpster.
- eichiefs9

It was funny...the other night, I put WFAN on for a few seconds and heard Somers saying that the Mets couldn't possibly want to get Michael Bourn, because he's a player with major league experience, instead of a prospect....and I was thinking....hey, I root for that hockey team...

That more like it boys. Get more positive. That was great 59 min effort. I wanted nabby to get the shut out.

Nice win. That hit by McDonald should have been 2 mins not 5. At worst a double minor.
Whatever. He just holding a place till bailey gets back.

Isles were faster team with better special teams
Way to make the best of our lone national tv spot of season. Keep it up.

Btw McDonald wasn't benched. I think you get game misconduct when you get a major.

Marty reasoner actually did he job tonight as well. 5 points in 4 road games. Lets get two more thurs and take 1st in division.

I believe originally he did not get the misconduct and wound up getting it after play resumed? Was pretty strange actually.

40 games like that and they'd be in business. I never thought I'd say this about the Islanders but the team D was great tonight.

That is how they need to play defense....too bad Streit whiffed on that clearing attempt, but other than that, they were solid all night. Neither Pittsburgh nor Philadelphia are any good, in my opinion, and the playoff series they played against each other last year proves that. I think this idea that Pittsburgh is the Vegas favorite for the Cup is ridiculous. Watch the Grabner goal from last night- I know Grabner is fast, but Pittsburgh didn't have real control of the puck for at least 3 seconds before it got to that point, and that puck was back at the blue line. Two strides and there's NO ONE behind him- really? What are their defensemen there for....to make sure the bench is full?

The best teams in the conference are NJ, Boston and that team that plays in Manhattan, and those teams are tough for the Isles, because they are big and strong and they go to the net, which is what our team has to learn to play defense well enough to be able to handle, at this point. Philly and Pittsburgh, just to name two of many, play shinny, and our boys can do that with anyone- AND we have a better goalie than either of those two teams.

Tonight was a complete surprise.

Greatest thing about tonight: the final score was not even an indication of badly we outplayed them. Frustrated the poop out of them, passed the puck beautifully and hustled, hustled, hustled. That PK, and the whole season so far, was gorgeous. The Pens didn't stand a chance to score the whole 5 minute major. Maybe we can build on this.

Cappy.
Im not saying he is Al Abor, but he deserves some credit, he coached a sound game today. He took out McDonald after his dumb play, he didnt call a bad line change, played the 4th line that was HOT tonight allowing them to weardown the penguins after we had a 4 goal lead, gave Hickey more ice time that he deserved. Also Cappy was the one who stressed the PK needs to be more aggressive and take more risks, and what do you know? It's working.

The only two things HE NEEDS TO DO GOING FORWARD
-Move KO to 2nd or 3rd Line
-Improve Ulstroms Ice time

- Danformo

That's not really a tough decision since he was thrown out of the game Cappy still sucks

I disagree that was a terrible hit from behind. If that happened to JT you would be looking to hang the guy

Mario probably called the league and told him he would leave the NHL if he wasn't thrown out of the game

It would be nice if you guys could at least spell Al Arbour's name right. Forget that hes our greatest coach ever, by far, but his name isn't exactly hard to spell.

And...it was a 5 minute penalty. Vukota's right. If one of ours got their head put into the boards like that we'd be looking for a suspension.

Lets face it, KO was never really that good. There were lofty expectations put on the kid, he is a 2/3 line fwd and seems to be leaning towards 3rd line lately.
- Cptmjl

But before he got hurt, although his point production was never incredible, you always noticed him. He won every one on one battle and played with a much bigger edge than he does now. Point production aside, KO isn't the same player from 3 years ago.
