I didn't realize NBC was so Pittsburgh bias!!!!
- jimmc7722

They showed the upcoming 5 game schedule and I think Pittsburgh was in three of them.

How much do you think it burned dingleberry to have to give the isles credit on how they played tonight?

I found that funny too. I guess they gave up on Ovechkin

Isles have scored 21 goals last 5 games...against good teams for the most part.

The Devil game will be another test. Need to be able to score against NJ. Hope the forwards continue to help out in the d zone. Isles like many teams need everyone going.

40 games like that and they'd be in business. I never thought I'd say this about the Islanders but the team D was great tonight. They need to just play Grabner as much as possible while he's going like this.

Bad hit by McD...he had one like that in Bport earlier this year on Jyri Niemi...got suspended for a few games. Weird since it's not like he goes around looking to make risky hits, but I guess he doesn't go out of his way to avoid them either.

I was alone thinking KO had a good game against the Jets. Don't think he had one tonight. I remember a couple of years ago quite a few people wanted to name him captain. Seems like he used to be a lot more involved out there. And it still doesn't look like he's not trying or anything like that...he's just a step behind the play a lot.

Other than that...Hickey and Strait had really strong games I thought. I'll say that for Snow at least...his dumpster diving is almost a running joke, but he manages to find some decent players in there.

Maybe Snow should teach the Mets how to dumpster dive...

I think KO is just snakebit since that hit from Z in the blue and white scrimmage game 2 years ago (seperating his shoulder?) To me, he just hasn't been the same player since.

He turned his back 6ft before the boards. That one was on McDonald. Not intentional or suspension-worthy, but the call was the right one.

It works every time I thought they were gonna get smoked but they played a solid road game and it helped that the pens were brutal tonight. Outside of KO sucking balls no complaints out of me

Tonight was a complete surprise.

Greatest thing about tonight: the final score was not even an indication of badly we outplayed them. Frustrated the poop out of them, passed the puck beautifully and hustled, hustled, hustled. That PK, and the whole season so far, was gorgeous. The Pens didn't stand a chance to score the whole 5 minute major. Maybe we can build on this.

Gotta be honest did not expect them to be getting all this scoring especially without PA. Imagine if we kept him...

You have to get over your Parenteau obsession. He is gone.

Cappy.
Im not saying he is Al Abor, but he deserves some credit, he coached a sound game today. He took out McDonald after his dumb play, he didnt call a bad line change, played the 4th line that was HOT tonight allowing them to weardown the penguins after we had a 4 goal lead, gave Hickey more ice time that he deserved. Also Cappy was the one who stressed the PK needs to be more aggressive and take more risks, and what do you know? It's working.

The only two things HE NEEDS TO DO GOING FORWARD
-Move KO to 2nd or 3rd Line
-Improve Ulstroms Ice time

I have to say the lines played amazing tonight, including reasoner. KO still does not look settled. If we can see consistent games like this, I will be very excited. I would like to see KO in the press box and let Bailey take his place on the top line. I can see the three of them clicking on the top line like that. I know I will get heat for saying that, but bailey would blossom with JT and Moulson.

Lets face it, KO was never really that good. There were lofty expectations put on the kid, he is a 2/3 line fwd and seems to be leaning towards 3rd line lately.
