if any habs fan really thinks PK is going to resign after that bogus deal then they are dreaming.

the habs new GM is HORRIBLE.

thats what happens when you "HAVE TO HAVE A FRENCH SPEAKING GM"

(frank)in idiots.

- big_dion

The GM did what he thought was right by using a comparable with MDZ, problems is, what will be the fallout from it, worse case scenario they trade him but get a good return for Subban before the next contract.

I saw a few tweets that said that is Subban's last contract with the Habs, I can't remember but I think it was a couple of the TSN guys, that will be interesting.
- LeafMan

many things can change in two years.

what if he doesnt grow? perhaps he levels off and bergevin ends up looking like a genious

subban should just focus on playing.

Ya regradless of what Subban said in his presser, there is alot of bad feelings on both sides. The players are apparently upset with P.K. as well.

Good if he leaves, would love him as a Leaf

Won't he still be RFA after this contract is up? He's not going to have much choice pending offer sheets.
- 1979AD

RFA or not - i dont care to look, i just know if i got paid 50% of what im worth id be out of town first chance i got.

and with PK's attitude...well, i dont think i need to say anymore.

That was all Blake, and I applaud Grabo for not taking that douchebags arrogant attitude.

Blake had issues with several team mates.

Again, good on Grabo. He doesnt tolerate crap.

- big_dion

if you dont score at a PPG pace then you're useless

as for the other facets of the game?

they dont matter.

He was RFA, he had no leverage.

Price signed the same type of contract. Pacioretty did too, same for Gorges before hitting their pay-day.

- Pecafan Fan

maybe so but 2 million is a slap in the face. and you know it, just like PK does.

Grabovski was a little puke, he grew up and turned his career around.

Good for him.

I think he may be eligible for arbitration then

yeah i get it, but i dont agree with it, i think its a stupid move.

pay the extra 1 million measily dollars and keep your future star player happy.

they just wrote off gomez and got armstrong for a mil, pretty sure they could have afforded it!

at least you can admit it was a horrendous choice.

and im quite calm, i think its funny the PK signing...lets rip off our best D man who's the face of the franchise so he doesnt resign.

- big_dion

I think he will resign afterwards. 2 years is a long time, lots can change. They just wanted some cheap years out of him, then they will unload a dumptruck full of money on him and all will be forgiven.

He could have sit the season out if he wanted.

Markov is better. Always has been. Just always seems to get hurt.

PKs ceiling and ultimate potential are nowhere near determined. Hence the short term medium money. I think its a smart move actually. I realize its nowhere near the contract artistry of Lupul, but its still prudent.

This is true - for all his apparent skill and potential, he hasn't topped 38 points in a season yet.

take a wild guess

hes an NHL hockey player, he'd rather play and keep in shape and keep his stock high.

what good does sitting out a full season? no good, no pay, no nothing.

Dont be bitter.

You started becoming a regular in this thread this past week after the Habs rebounded from the loss to the Leafs. Your itch to troll is evident.

Grabovski was mishandled in Montreal. But if calling him a puke makes you feel better, I guess thats what this place is for.

I'm not bitter. I'm happy for him.

If your blue and white goggles cloud your vision so much that you can't even admit Grabovki was a bum in the past, then there's nothing I can say or do to change that.
