You would love for that, but it wont happen. Hes everything you guys said he wasnt. A good team mate. Hard worker. Talented. Gifted. Consistent. Solid at both ends of the ice.

This proves nothing that contradicts what I said.

It only shows 4 dmen, one of which is Komi who is the one who should be bought out. Which leaves 3 spots open. Like I said, there will be roster spots. 3 of them at the least. Just like I said.

- systemtool

Komi has only one year left and he's a big body bruiser (granted, not a particularly good one), which they don't really have a replacement for. Liles has 3 years after this, so it makes more sense (if you can't move him) to use the get out of jail free card on the longer term contract (Gardner/Rielly/Finn/Kostka) will be much cheaper puck movers moving forward. They can buy out komi the old fashioned way next year and only have half of his salary on the books for 2 years (like Armstrong).

there is always a need by some other team for a puck moving defensemen.

Always!!

- faceto27

Hell, if Kaberle can be traded as much as hes been, Liles will have no problems finding a new home in a deal. Should it come to that.

Given the difference between $600k and $3.875mill, I choose Kostka.

you mean the fact that you can only sign with one team limits a guys options?!?!?

NO WAY

people purposely blind themselves so that they only see what they want to see.

- Dozzer

I saw a few tweets that said that is Subban's last contract with the Habs, I can't remember but I think it was a couple of the TSN guys, that will be interesting.

He grew up.

2 years ago, he was still fighting with guys in practice and even punched some guy in a bar in Vancouver during the Olympics.

He's becoming more mature. Good for him.

There are so many things wrong with this post, im just going to have to pass on the long and redundant explanation. It's already been made more than once, by more than once person.

For the love of Spinner's Dad, can we not talk about Rielly with the Leafs next year?

Pretty please?

- Atomic Wedgie

Worse things have happened than a 19 year old 5th overall pick making the team. Especially if he rips up the AHL this year after Moose Jaw's season is done.

if any habs fan really thinks PK is going to resign after that bogus deal then they are dreaming.

the habs new GM is HORRIBLE.

thats what happens when you "HAVE TO HAVE A FRENCH SPEAKING GM"

I dont think anyone can blame Grabs for fighting with the useless brothers you guys finally had the sense to get rid of, or for punching a guy in Vancouver.

We can all agree to this.

He'll still be a RFA at the end of this contract.

Interesting indeed.

Won't he still be RFA after this contract is up? He's not going to have much choice pending offer sheets.

Dont blame him at all. Then again, its about time the owners took a stance on the contracts. I see both views on this one.

He was RFA, he had no leverage.

Price signed the same type of contract. Pacioretty did too, same for Gorges before hitting their pay-day.
