That depends on who you talk to. - golfingsince
The way LA is playing, I'm sure the roster comparisons would be interesting.

I said when have the Leafs drafted someone like that. Please, try to keep up. - Two_For_Truth
And then some said salming and undidnt like that cause he didn't technically get drafted which is more unlikely to find someone like that. U didn't specify just leafs |

So your answer is that the Leafs don't have anybody as good as Brown, Doughty, Kopitar or Quick?
I thought so. - Two_For_Truth
do the leafs have anyone like:
Brown-no, maybe Frattin? leadership?
Doughty-no
Kopitar-a big #1 C, not many teams do
Quick- a conn smythe winning #1 goalie, again, not many teams do.
but why do they needs guys like this? teams have won the cup and competed for it with varying roster makeups... |

There is no dodging. Im just using your arguements against you. You said the Leafs cant draft for poop, especially Nonis, then you insist the Leafs draft their way to glory. - systemtool
And again, you're exaggerating rather than reading the words in front of you.
The Leafs can't draft franchise players in nontraditional places. Unless of course you can refute that?
Drafting 1st overall isnt a choice that Nonis says yes or no to. The players all have to fail, and then a lottery has to be won. Which under the new CBA is made much more difficult.
It's a choice. All he has to do is choose to trade away certain players and one of the top picks is all but his.
The new CBA didn't really change much. The last placed team still has the best odds at 1st overall and is still guaranteed 2nd overall at worst. The only thing that changed was that teams can win the lottery instead of just moving up 4 places. The odds of that are still ridiculously low from most spots. |

He had some decent wingers.....that's where Quinn erred. You guys had goaltending, Mogilny, Roberts.
Your D wasn't good enough..... - golfingsince
I would say the first time forwards sucked
Derek king, berezan, valk, were some of our top forwards, |

You're a (frank)ing child. A point hits that you don't like, and the games come out.
Answer the question, tank theorist. How many first round draft picks are on torontos current roster, compared to la's?? It doesn't (frank)ing matter who's better than who, they won the cup you dolt, of course they have better players. How many current top 10 draft picks on each roster?
If this was an easy answer, it would clearly be ammo to back up your theory about tanking being the only method, right? And you wouldn't be dodging it for the 5th time, right?
Speaking of dodging... How did you get the hall pass to avoid a lengthy ban, and agitate the entire fanbase under an alternate account?
Tough questions, ugly. |

Wayne scored on his next shift, when he should have been in the box. It's a pretty solid conclusion...
not that it needs to be discussed further. - Big_Lightnin

Maybe a few 1st or 2nd overall picks might help them change that because historically speaking, the Leafs haven't been able to find those players where the Kings found them. The Leafs can't find Brown or Kopitar in the middle of the 1st round. If they could, they would have them already. The solution? Draft higher so that your odds of finding a guy like that go up exponentially. |

Based on Leafs logic and stats from UG, because of his track record, the Leafs will come in ninth place and win the ridiculous longshot Lottery.
That seems perfectly reasonable for me, they'll draft the piece that pushes them over the top and continue gather more prospects and more prospects will make the roster.
Win win. |

If la's entire fanbase, and the media had their way less than a year ago, brown wouldn't even be a king.
Remember that time he was 'useless'? I remember the deadline fits from UG bashing people suggesting trading for brown.
Now he's ammo. Sweet. |

The Leafs? The Leafs dont draft players, who ever this Leafs guy is. Nonis does and hes only been on the job a month at most.
It's a choice. All he has to do is choose to trade away certain players and one of the top picks is all but his.

If thats his choice, and he has to trade certain players, then Kadri and Frattin make the list of players to be traded. Likely Gardiner too if he can return to last seasons form.
The new CBA has changed in that it has lowered the odds signficantly, and now includes 14 teams in the lottery not 5.
Please stop this nonsense. |

We had a lot of injuries too that year though, but our D was actually very good. Sundin being the biggest one. (injury wise)
But most of Sundins time in Toronto didnt include top level wingers. - systemtool
I guess we'll disagree. |

Why does a team need a strong 1st line center? A clutch, physical captain? An amazing goaltender? An anchor defender who eats up 25 to 30 minutes a night? Is that a serious question? If you take a good look at most Cup winners, they have most, if not all, of those things. |

You're a hypocrite to. No one throws more fits about people dodging questions than you. You've had 6 chances to answer a simple one.
