Schneider and Bourdon were good picks. He took Edler too but credit goes to Gradin.

Hodgson too right?

not good with canucks, but doing fine with Sabres. #1C this year

EDIT: whoop nope he was fired then

Not finding a (frank)ing datsyuk in the 7th round of the draft isn't ammo to bash a franchises drafting.

Not the point. Sorry that you missed it so badly.

That's not what u asked is u asked about late bloomers answering your question. Don't get upset because you got proven wrong just accepted your not so perfect it ll make your life easier.
- Yeti1181

You're wrong. That's not what I asked. I asked how likely is it that the Leafs can find a guy like that. The answer is very unlikely. That means, because it's so hard to find guys like that, out of nowhere, the Leafs need to go where it's more likely they will succeed.

Where the Canucks had been drafting, and where the Leafs will draft are worlds apart.

Nothing to ignore here, but your ignorance and failing attempts to cover it up.

Furthermore, if you're going to go on about Nonis inability to draft, the last thing you should be doing is suggesting he build this team through the draft.

Excellent solution. Good work.

- systemtool

Furthermore the Canucks have not won the cup, which was his argument against the Rangers being a good team despite them not drafting high

You guys had "the guy". Unfortunately, the team wasn't assembled around him properly IMO and/or things didn't go your way and you were eliminated in the ECF....twice.

It takes a lot of good fortune as well as being in position to challenge for the cup year after year (for the most part) in order to win it.

Agreed.

How is this man still alive?

Funny you would say that, my daugher and I were watching a soccar game this afternoon and I mentioned that in some African countries they sometimes kill the ref. And she was amazed that does not happen to Hockey Ref's in Canada.

The problem is you think that "building" on what they have now is going to work.

The reason this team needs to rebuild is because it doesn't have the right pieces to build on. The foundation isn't there. It isn't strong enough.

You could keep "building" on what they have now and you would end up with an 8th placed team that loses in the 1st round.

leafs should invent a time machine, go back. draft datsyuk. tell burke not to trade for kessel, tell them to keep rask. then we can argue about other more important things, like how hot kate upton is..

Exactly. Its not likely you'll get 40 goal scorers. So thats why when you get one like Kessel you dont just throw him away for another draft pick because you might end up with a worse player.

Thank you for realizing

But you just said the Leafs cant draft at all. Especially Nonis. So how does this make them more likely to succeed?

Canucks has flubbered up more drafts than most. Well... many. If you could the 80s, they were downright shameful.

Nonis has different scouts now. You do know GM's don't actually do the drafting right?

Last 2 Leaf drafts, given where they've been picking, are looking pretty good.

As opposed to Kassian as a first line winger, who also has more goals...nice try

How many top 10 draft picks are on the leafs roster, compared to la's?

Answer the question.

I've spent years listening to your dribble about tanking and drafting high being the only championship formula. ONLY way to do it.

Leafs don't need a time machine. All they need is a little foresight and patience.

Yes, you fear that you will never be able to do any better so you stick with mediocrity. Excellent work! He can't get you a Cup but who cares he scores 40! Good enough!
