My favorite shift of the game was watching Kessel and JVR battle for puck possession along the boards for almost a minute. Just doing great work puck protecting from the sabres and then I said to my buddy, wait for the puck to come to Bozak and it'll take .2 seconds for it to be on a sabres stick and sure enough.....
Than we get to the defensive zone, kessel somehow with 0 gas left breaks up the play and literally has no energy to even skate to the bench. Where's bozak? Flying around neutral zone looking for the breakaway pass.
(frank)ing guy, I love his sheer ignorance.

sure the fans are frustrated.. why wouldnt they be?
it doesnt change the fact that tonight was a good night. wasnt the prettiest but they got it done. and largely by the younger guys.
negativity engulfs.. always look for the bright spots. tonight was one of them - Dozzer

should of?
they WON.
frattin and kadri are clicking.. why break them up? they makes absolutely zero sense.
well matt, you have scored 5 points in 3 games.. lets switch it up ... that... would be piss poor coaching. the most intermediate of coaches know not to break up a line thats clicking.
besides, dont you want the kids to grow together? you are always saying that. and they're getting second line minutes.. you're too focused on which order the names come in on the roster sheet. - Dozzer
i agree. well said |

Yes, van Riemsdyk should be getting more ice time than guys like McClement but when there are other young guys who are playing better, like Frattin and/or Kadri, then van Riemsdyk should take a backseat to them. So in case you missed it, young guys should get more ice time than plug veterans but better young guys should get the most ice time. Got it? Doubt it. - Two_For_Truth
So... McClement should get less ice time than JVR, despite being more productive tonight, because he's older. But JVR should get less ice time than Frattin because, despite being younger, he's less productive.
I swear you're just making it up as you go along. |

Put Frattin and Kadri with Kessel and van Riemsdyk with Grabovski and Kulemin. |

McClement did nothing special. He tapped in a rebound after Kadri almost picked a corner. Hardly productive, just in the right place at the right time. |

If you want to try and get kessel going, I can live with watching Bozak do his half assed puck protection in the offensive zone, his non existent d-zone coverage in our end but when I watch him handicap our power plays over Kadri? that needs to stop. |

another thing to consider here is the line matching carlyle does.
he uses the grabo line against opposition top lines.. focused on shutting guys down while providing some offense.
mcclement made more sense in that role. especially with a hot line playing in kadri frattin and komarov.
they arent trying to tank TFT, no matter how hard you wish for it. |
