He was with them 5% of the time
Little Ladd and Wheeler were a line 16% of the time. So 3 times as often.

Kane was all over the map.

so you just proved yourself wrong?

Then you are both wrong.

Are you seriously going to argue with a guy from Winnipeg on this?

i posted the percentage of time on even strength and PP above.

I am always amazed at how a position can look deep, right up until you decide to trade one cause you are so deep. Consider all the depth Vancouver had before trading Hodgson. Next Kesler gets hurt and they are crying about lack of centers.
- heh49314

That is very true but if you look at the cats with who is on the team and our top prospects are centers. On the team right now we have Weiss, mueller, goc, Matthias, huberdeau can play center. Kopecky can as well. Now prospects we have shore, bjugstad etc...

now we are just getting silly... 300 points in 48 games maybe
- senstroll

Well, if Gretzky was able to put up 215 points in a full season, I think 300 in one game is reasonable for Grigorenko. Might break 3000 points by season's end.

Yes, Leafs logic dictates, that they win the games that they are supposed to lose and lose the games that they're supposed to win. I hope not, because tomorrow, the fanbase will be back at planning the Stanley Cup parade route, while today they're talking about picking first in the draft. I think the latter is closer to reality.
- PrinceLH

neither is close to reality, first pick overall? something else we can't win

actually he was with wheeler 51.7% of the time.. so more than half.

and on the PP.. 71.3% of his ice time was shared with wheeler

sorry man, you are off base with this one.

But still played very little with Antropov.
- Feeling Glucky?

Yeah he was all over the map.
My point point was that he was not with Wheeler that much.
Wheeler Ladd and Little were a line for the most part.

The concern for the Leafs is that Kessel may not want to stay in Toronto and all the media attention unless he is overpaid and he is not would you would call a centerpiece type player. He is an extremely valuable talent, but not a first line center or a franchise goalie.
- mikeinbuffalo

Agree, and hopefully they can flush out his desire to stay sooner rather than later, for max return should that be the only option.

Yeah my math was wrong.

However most of that time was at the start of the season. Can you do the last 40 games or so?

this is correct.. wheeler got a lot more ice time than kane. and his primary linemates were ladd and little

here's wheeler's pairings:

19% /KANE,E - LITTLE,B - WHEELER,B
10.7% /BURMISTROV,A - KANE,E - WHEELER,B
5.7% /KANE,E - STAPLETON,T - WHEELER,B
3.1% /GLASS,T - SLATER,J - WHEELER,B

Power Play Line Combinations
Freq /Line Combination
37.8% /LADD,A - LITTLE,B - WHEELER,B
28.1% /LADD,A - LITTLE,B - STAPLETON,T - WHEELER,B
22.3% /KANE,E - LITTLE,B - WHEELER,B
7.1% /BURMISTROV,A - KANE,E - WHEELER,B
4.8% /KANE,E - MIETTINEN,A - WHEELER,B

which kane are you referring to? not that it matters.

winnipeg isn't trading evandar kane for kessel straight up, and they CERTAINLY aren't throwing in a pick.

and i'm pretty sure if you're refering to patrick kane, again, i doubt chicago is moving him. however, if they did, it's the leafs who are including the pick, not the hawks. patrick kane is a better player then kessel, IMO.

- sensarmy_11

I was referring to Winnipegs Kane! He has had some issues, outside of hockey, and a new start may work for him and the team, that's all.

Trade - Grabbo, Kulimen, Gunnerson, McArthur, Bozak, Franson and Liles

without those guys the Leafs should be able to be bad enough to get a top 3.

- HipHopisDead

Ya thats what I was thinking, trading all those guys could bring back a lot of picks/ prospects combined with a couple years of top 5 picking. I just hope they don't do one or the other, ie trading only kessel or only one or two of the guys you mentioned. trading for youth that is

All I know is that if Nonis drafts a dman with his first rounder this year I'm going to snap. Unless he's come from the future and confirmed that guy is a bonafide HOFer and will lead us to multiple Cups then we don't need a dman.

We need centre more than anything else. Go with Leafman's approach: just draft all centres and hope one of them is a star. The rest you can convert to wingers, bury in the minors, trade, whatever...we need that #1 C more than anything, even more than goaltending.

- deerow84

that philosophy is the Bobby Clarke way of drafting. The Flyers have been doing that for years
