still can't find a LW for Kovy. freaking Parise . Tedenby is in Albany, Matteau is going to go back, they've tried Josefson, Carter, Zubrus.. Elias never worked. Zubrus is our best bet but the Zubrus-Elias-Clarkson line looks good. We're 1 Parise away from being elite. makes me crazy. Henrique should come back and bring a similar boost. Can Hedberg start every game? wow

Idk. I'd give your first combo a try but I don't like it. Elias never worked well with Kovy. Your second scenario is more likely, but I think we have to give Henrique a try on Kovy's LW. No one else has worked so far

I said before the season started that it would begin and end with the kids. Tedenby didn't pan out and I doubt Matteau stays.. Butler went back to the AHL. It's not good. We have 2 4th lines here. .. although when the CGB line is on their game they can be as effective as a 3rd line. We have yet to see what Darche can bring but he's essentially another Pandolfo. I really liked Anderson's speed tonight. I'd like to see Zubrus anchoring that line on the LW.. but we're 1 top 6 forward shy.

This is why I'm optimistic about going after O'Reily!

Tallinder had only 16:06 minutes tonight. 2 OT losses in a row, Larsson may come in for a spark. Tallinder really is a mid-pairing dman tho. He can help a team in need.. I just think most teams are going to wait until the trade deadline to see if they'll need a mid-pairing or depth dman in exchange for a forward. The partner has to have enough forward depth to part with a decent winger and they have to have weak defense depth. Sounds simple but most teams in contention won't be so eager to trade a contributing forward. I'm not so interested in Gagner as much as a Hemsky. What other teams could be in need of D and have a solid forward to part with?

Glad the two old-timers in net are on top of their games. The rest of the team needs to get their poop together. Pete needs to establish lines, There is no chemistry and the 4th line needs to become the 4th line again they are not a 3rd line...(frank) Henrique come back! And tell me why we sign goons? We don't even let them goon it up DAFAQ? With all that said good sign were winning not playing that great.

yea i agree about giving him a shot in the shoot out clarky should have shot no idea why he didnt then the next 2 shooters tried the same move as him and usually the young kids are the ones with the shoot out moves so it wouldn't have hurt at all

Kovy and Elias, sure but Zajac and Clarkson don't have a large enough sample size to be sure. Rather than being the best in the league in shootouts we're just like everybody else and probably average. It's still fine though. It's 5 games in and we've picked up points in all games.

Agreed here, as I usually do with you. At the end of the day, we still haven't been beaten in 60 minutes and we have 8/10 points to start the season off. 1st place in the Atlantic and we have game(s) in hand. Can't be much better than that at this point.

Although I find it odd saying it, but there is a big game against the Isles tomorrow!

Makes our center crew outstanding with Riles in the group, and if someone were to go down in the C column, Henrique to the rescue. Bam. Personally think we're a damn good team and we can make it again, we just need a new scoring threat out there. Who knows, maybe when Adam comes back we light it up some more.

Picking up 8/10 points when we haven't really been great is awesome. We have a lot of room for growth and we happened to be first in the Atlantic while doing so.

I have to say that every year for a long time the Islanders were bad but they could still kick your ass when you weren't awake. This year they look better and will play you hard so it's about us starting the game in the first period instead of the second.

I think the first 10 games or so of the season is huge for every team. It's basically your first quarter of the season cushion in which to separate yourself from other teams. I'd be interested to see how we fair for the next couple of weeks in which we'll hopefully find our stride and see where we end up.
