on the bright side, the Flyers do have some games coming up against teams that are more on their level, or a bit below, so maybe we can inch our way back up to 500.

Bryz is top 5 goalie in the NHL thus far, and you would never know it.

I don't think any trade will help this team. There is no one player who is going to fix the team wide problems on the ice. Undisciplined penalties, mental mistakes, and disorganization on the ice is on the coaches. Losing puck battles and poor back checking is on the players. Either the players aren't buying in or Laviolette is out of answers. Either way, it is time for a change. Whether that will help with the compressed schedule and limited practice time is another question.

Teams go through slumps. It doesn't slways mean a trade or firing a coach is needed. Right now they have like nobody capable of qbing a pp or at least their options are very thin hence you see voracek out there. The compressed schedule and lack of practice time isn't helping. They can clean up their individual games but in the meantime finding someone to work that pp, could get things working again. That wasted so many opportunities on the pp, last night being weak at the point was a main culprit. Start capitalizing in the pp and they can be winning these games. Meszaros being out isn't helping.

Why can't you just elaborate a little further? He asked a question because your statement was ambiguous at best. It's just simple conversation etiquette.

Bryz will have to keep his play at this level for the entire season if we continue to play the way we are.

Can he? Maybe, its a pretty short season.

On the plus side, despite all thats gone wrong, Feb is a pretty good month opponent wise for the Flyers.

If you can't beat the best teams, you gotta feast on the lesser teams.

Blind hope, or looking at the possibility of changes and criticizing the team looking at how things could be improved.

I'll choose realism. Thank ya.

- flyer_nutter

You didn't choose realism when looking at Talbot. You're just choosing to look at the team when they're not playing well and labeling players as no good. Ignoring the large body of work, and focusing on a few games, as you're doing with Talbot. There's a big difference between not playing well in a time period, and simply not being a good player period. The Flyers right now unfortunately have some good players that simply aren't playing well.

Read is miles above Nodl in my book.

Get what you mean definately. I'd look at FA for the offense and use the assets for the D, where the Flyers will definately have to overpay. Nature of the beast.

- flyer_nutter

Read is miles above Nodl in everyone's book. Nodl was a role player, who showed some offensive promise to be able to contribute one Season. Read is a player who has a lot higher talent level, and can play on a scoring line.

Ehh, to streaky... and personally, I think his best days are behind him. Unless you get him for an absolute steal, I wouldn't bother.

He is a bit streaky, but he's also among the top ten goal scorers in the NHL over the last two years...and he's 25 years old. Not sure his best days would be behind him.

Although I agree, Kessel's a bit too one way and soft for my liking, although he has good wheels and certainly can score goals in bunches.

I didn't mean to undermine his abilities.. I do think he has potential yet, no doubt... But I think the biggest thing with him, is he needs a great playmaker beside him. Maybe on a line with Giroux he could light it up...

To which Lars Eller responded: We'll call him Pernell.

I'd love to see him in orange and black. Maybe his short contract makes that a possibility down the road.

He might be...still very leery of a guy that has a rep as a guy that soft...and he's useless defensively.

Why is Rusty on this team? He adds 0 value. McGinn is a much better play at this point.

The defense is horrible.

Bryz has been a shining star this year.
