the weight of the C is key here
- watsonnostaw

Imho its the linemates. Look who he is playing with? Sure Simmonds and Read have jump but are they top line guys? Maybe 2nd liner's, but still better suited to a 3rd line role.

The D has been adequate but does nothing creatively in the offensive zone. Isn't a real threat to score from the point either. It is what it is.

which schenn?

B. Schenn. Luke has been a pleasant surprise. Very encouraged with what I have seen from him.

He's in a long list of names for that category, yes but for now I'm focusing on the actual liability I perceive him to be.

I like Voracek but he's in a different world to start the season.

I know. Was just showing my support for Lavi.
- Flyskippy

The players have to make passes and get pucks on net etc. there are adjustments Lavy can make but he's not playing with a full deck on the blue line either.

Giroux deserves a big hunk of blame. He's playing like crap, and honestly his effort hasn't been beyond questioning. Look at the 4th Tampa goal from Sunday. Giroux literally stopped skating on the back check.

He's played poorly, hasn't fought for the puck like he has in the past and honestly, he's been as big a disappointment to me as Voracek or Bryaden Schenn have so far.

Reluctantly I have to agree. He needs to make some plays.

Especially in light of his season ending a game earlier than the rest of the team last year. I thought he would come out hungrier, but maybe it's the EA Sports cover athlete curse.

His defensive effort is a concern to me. He has never been a great defensive guy though. Not to say he can be lazy on the back-check that needs to improve.

In the offensive zone or transition the guy is trying to do too much. Who on the offense is a real threat to INITIATE plays consistently. Giroux and Briere. On the whole team its maybe those two guys and Kimmo.

Simmonds and Read are nice players, but I'm with you Peanut, they aren't first liners.

Giroux doesn't have that elite player on his Wing.

Eh, they had some good pressure from time to time. Overall they were much better than against Tampa.

Briere was actually pretty good tonight. He single handily carried what little offense the team generated.

Giroux is supposed to be in the highest tier of player. Regardless of his intent offensively, he's not getting the job done. He's supposed to make players around him better.

If this kid goes south we need to have a C burning after he's gone. No more (frank)ing captains, they either emwhither on the vine or retire due to injury going back to lindross maybe even dineen, I just throw my hands up in the air with this poop anymore.

It won't be long Joe, if this keeps up. This fanbase will turn on Giroux and there will be some stupidity written in the media. And it will be deja vue and just like old times.

Hell even Hartnell. He is a crash and bang guy.

Look at the lineup. From top to bottom, including D.

Who scares you on there if you are another team? A handful of guys.

I give Coots a break because I do see him trying. Schenn on the other hand is driving me insane. Flyers need changes in the summer. Keep some of the youth, but dont build mediocrity.

They seemed better because bryz was in net... Put lateton in and it's a 4-1 game.
