Eager would have been concussed on his way to the net.
- NEEDSMORHORCOFF

He still could have done the same as Hemsky did on that goal. Go to the net and push the puck across the line. Thomas Holmstrom created a whole career out of doing that. It wasn't a high skill play, I don't know why you are so enthralled with Hemsky's play.

At the end of the year you don't separate the trash and the fancy...they all count...he was there, he scored.

bingo. First goal of the game, first time the oilers lead a game this season. Give the guy some credit. Yes it was due to harti's hard work but he wasn't enough to finish the deal.

That isn't what I am saying. I'm just saying that the fact that this clown is blowing his load over a simple play on a garbage is odd. Like you said he was there, it could have been any Oiler there and they could have done the same thing.

Not sure why you said Potter was bad. He had a great game and Kruger put him on PP1 with 2 minutes left because of this. I think they're trying to showcase Whitney in order to get the maximum return and may plan on having Potter and Fistric as 5/6. At the moment Potter>Whitney.

I've been defending RNH all week, but he did just have a sh1t game. He may be 50% at fault for the lone GA and was constantly coughing it up. I think it's time Hall, Ebs, n Nuge start shooting the GD puck instead of doodling around with it.

Hartikainen and Gagner win my players of the game. Both showed a lot of heart and a lot of battle. If Gagner was 6'2 he'd be a favourite on the team. Doesn't get enough credit.

One final note. Hemsky and Yak shouldn't be on the same line. Hemsky shows flashes of brilliance, but is all over the ice and seems to play well defensively whenever he feels like it. Yak is 19 and will have an adjustment period, but right now he's sh1t defensively. I agree that Hall should switch with Yak, although the chemistry on line 1 makes me feel uneasy about that.

I agree, I don't think that RNH has been very good so far this season. He hasn't looked sharp.

but it wasn't anyone else, it was him, a skilled player, on the PP.

Do we throw turds at Yak for scoring an empty net goal? Any monkey with a stick can do that one also....well except for Patrik Stepan

No, but he doesn't have a fanboy flying off the handle due to criticism and using that he scored as a defense. Hemsky wasn't very good tonight, just because he scored a goal that any player in the entire hockey universe could have is no reason to think that he did play well.

Offensively no, not very good. But he is improving a lot defensively. His back checking has been great so far this year. A couple blown coverages, but way more dependable so far than last year.

Anybody could have scored Hemsky's goal it was nothing special. Eberle's goal on the other hand, only a select few can make that shot. I wonder if all the people who work off the fancy stats (Jonathan Willis) who were talking about how Eberle will never reach the numbers he did last season are second guessing themselves.
- Ben37

They never said he wouldn't, they said it wasn't likely that he would maintain the same 18.9 shooting %, and that to maintain or increase his goal totals he would have to shoot more. He has done so, even guys like mc79 have recognized it.

LOL mark my words, hemmer was great in his first game and clouts practically begged him for fellatio. He might hate hemsky now but if he catches fire he'll be switching gears.

He does the same thing with Ganger. The only player Cloutier is consistent with is... Well I cant think of one. He hates Corry Potter now, and loved his Richard last season.
