One day, when you pass, people will compare the next generation of posters to Lahey, Laughs, Reveen, Oilhorse, Hugeb!tch77 etc... its just the way people are.

spitfire187 needs to be on this list. The top of it, he had the most far fetched stories out there, but then one day he had a video to back it up.

Did you even watch the game Cloutier?

How can you call the first line 'one of the best in hockey' when they didn't even score an EV goal?

How can you call both PP units 'brilliant' when neither of them could even get set up on, I believe, 2 of the PP.

Gagner should be scratched?? I don't even need to comment on this.

Don't get me wrong, I'm happy with the team so far but your assessment is completely wrong. I assume you are just trying to piss people off so they comment (like I am doing) and bump up your readership.

I guess integrity isn't something you value.

- Cansucks

This is a really ignorant and bad post. This person has extremely low hockey sense if they cannot see what Cloutier is pointing out. Not only are those three kids GOING to be amazing...guess what? They are now. If you cannot see the cycling, the making space and room for each other, knowing where AT LEAST two passing options exist all the time, defensive support, etc. etc. It seems like these three kids are taking a page out of the Sedins sometimes in the ways that they somehow predict what the other two will do.

I won't even comment on someone bashing 4PPG in one game....ummmmmm...yes I will. WTF are you talking about? It's early in the year, but this post is the dumbest so far. Congratulations.

Okay how about this. Cigerettes are regulated due to the adverse health effects of the chemicals contained in tobacco and the effect on people and their health.

Cigerettes are heavily taxed to help offset the healthcare costs of smokers later in life

So pot smokers while just enjoying them selves with an innocent drug are actually in effect depriving society. You joint does not have any type of filter on it to remove cancer causing agents you joint does not provide ny tax benefit to our health system.

- Oilerulez

I love this quote and everyone arguing about the legalization of pot. I say go for it. Smoke yourself silly! Let your kids smoke as much as they want too. My kids will ensure that they pay your kids a respectable wage, don't worry. Smoke away people...go for it! lol

Didn't try hard enough.

EDIT: Let's go with Whitney, Bulin, and PRV for Lubo, DiPietro, Hickey.

I want to preface this by saying I am a huge Smyth fan. However he has no place on the ice this season. He came out of the lockout not in game shape. Whether he would have with a full training camp, who knows but the point is, we have better players now. Same thing happened to Mogiliny last lockout and NJ buried him in the minors for the remainder of his career. I am not suggesting that.

Other teams have sat their BEST players for under performing. I think a night off might give him the chance to think about his play. He either comes back stronger and more motivated or we know for sure that he is done. I think the team should retire his number as one of the most hard working and longest serving Oilers of all time. I also think with his international play and his time around the NHL, that he could offer the team something as an employee off the ice. Unfortunately that time came sooner than anyone wanted or expected it to.

I think you give him a good job after hockey and he is happy, there will be no press backlash as Smyth himself will retire. He is not stupid. I have his wife on my facebook and he has other things going on. The Oilers are his life but he will understand because he is one of the few standup guys in hockey. Like the Yzermans, Sakics... not the same skill but the same love for the game.

Awesome post man. Cool that actually know Stacy (spelling) and maybe a little more than the average Johnny Nobody (me). I think Ryan would be amazing as a mentor or a front office guy something in that capacity for sure. Here's hoping...

You obviously missed the highlight reel goal by Yaks last night or you would not be talking trash like that...
- saskoil21

No s hit he turned on the jets and then buried it. The goalie wasn't even close to saving it. Not even within 30 feet of stopping it. On the PP as usual though.

The only thing I have to offer today is that the Oilers need to SHOOT THE PUCK MORE...and stop being so lazy in their own end, perhaps hit somebody...it's scary back there sometimes...

Serious question: Is anyone here concerned about the Oilers lack of ability to score 5 on 5? Seem to me it might suggest they are too small to penetrate the offensive zone and generate legit scoring chances. This could especially be a problem if they were to make the playoffs.

Thoughts?

Dude we just want to get to the prom, not nail the prom queen just yet. Maybe next year. Metaphorically speaking, we are only in grade 10.

I don't know would Lubo even wants to play for edm. It's really does edm see themselves resigning Whitney. I don't see it.

Whitney and bulin and prv for Lubo and Nabokov and nino.

A millionaire that doesn't want to be here (again) with a child with health issues is not something that we should pursue IMHO. Good luck to the Lube and his family though.

Ty Conklin once won 10 starts in a row.
- sanfordnson

With who the Harlem Globe Trotters?? Cause it sure wasn't in Alberta.

Every now and then a miracle occurs. 1980 Lake Placid, NY, Brian Boucher with 4 or 5 consecutive SO's in a row, Moses parting the water, David and Goliath, Ty Conklin's team being able to score enough goals to not lose with him in the net for 10 games...
