You mentioned Lucic so I have to...

That line works so well now that Horton is healthy and the reason is both Horton and Lucic are big, physical and not afraid to use it and not afraid to crash the net. This allows Krejci who is the polar opposite to create offense.

Hemsky no longer fits in with this team IMO. You have plenty of younger more durable an more mentally engaged firepower.

Yeah, but we drink beer "just to get drunk", and if someone tells you they don't drink, you'll probably think they're religious or something. There wasn't enough alcohol in beer, so we made wine. There wasn't enough alcohol in wine, so we made spirits. Concentrating the active ingredient in a drug is nothing new.

We assume that our recreational drug of choice is so good that no normal person would ever choose to be without it, yet our use of it causes a very great deal of harm to society. Put it this way - no one ever smoked a joint then went out and robbed a liquor store and came home and abused his family (unless there were other drugs involved). I know people who use Marijuana medicinally and several of them really do need it (and any rational person who saw them would agree with me). Several others them have found creative loopholes to get legal access to their recreational drug of choice. Hard to approve of that, but why should they risk going to jail if they don't have to?

When you call a man a "criminal", you suddenly justify inflicting all sorts of horrible treatment upon him. It is transparently immoral and blatantly hypocritical to criminalize a reasonably safe recreational drug.

So what if they smoke weed "just to get high"? Provided that use of any given drug is acceptably safe to the individual while causing minimal harm to society, we should be able to do whatever drugs we damn well please! This is where the research is important - are they still asphyxiating monkeys with marijuana smoke, then claiming it was the THC and not the asphyxiation that damaged their brains? Are they still running experiments that are designed to "prove" some political agenda, or is it actually real science? That's what I want to know!

Instead of scorning adults for wanting different things out of life than we do, perhaps we should be educating our children about drugs instead of indoctrinating them to react without thought.

Nice work sir.
After working in a unionized factory for 8 years I saw first hand how pot was used on a daily basis as opposed to alcohol as that is easier to detect. High is high and it impairs your nervous system and ability to react and those high should be subject to the same laws as those intoxicated. I don't think too many people deny drinking to get drunk, or suggest i get intoxicated cause it is healthy. And from watching rap videos and movies about compton and south central I know crimes are committed while people are high, but seriously not fair to suggest people dont get high and commit crimes.

legalizing it 100 years ago may have worked but today there are too many freaking idiots in our society and we don't need to add one more thing thats easy to access and even easier to abuse like alcohol. I agree some people need it for pain and other things, although smoking it causes cancer so might not be the best way to get it in. We all don't agree with every law in our society but hey at the end of the day, if ya break the law which you know to exist, whether you agree with it or not, still a criminal.

He was called up at the end of the season when he was playing for the Kootney Ice. Oilers were playing the stars in round 1 of the playoffs and he looked like a stud. Shortly after that he went D bag.
- Oilersforlife

It wasn't the end of the season, he played 40 games for us that season.

Okay how about this. Cigerettes are regulated due to the adverse health effects of the chemicals contained in tobacco and the effect on people and their health.

Cigerettes are heavily taxed to help offset the healthcare costs of smokers later in life

So pot smokers while just enjoying them selves with an innocent drug are actually in effect depriving society. You joint does not have any type of filter on it to remove cancer causing agents you joint does not provide ny tax benefit to our health system.

They should legalize everything, tax the (frank) out of it, build more hospitals and spend all that money they waste on drug crime on NHL arenas.

Hmmmm. interesting point. The filter wouldn't remove cancer causing agents however, it is the inhaling of the smoke over a period of time that is carcinogenic causing a change in cell type (metaplasia) which then can lead to neoplasia either malignant or benign. So i like where you are going, legalize it, then tax the sh1te out of it.

I am a smoker and a drinker. I know both are bad for me I choose to do it anyway. I pay my fair share of taxes as a result. I don't care if some one smokes a joint or not. I just get pissed off cuase they could be paying a sin tax at would work in my Favour instead of the other way around

Not really. In the end its a game played by millionaires.

The province having to go into deficit and (frank)ing stupid Redford talking PST? THAT bugs me. Good job voting that stupid female dog in sheep. The Conservatives are anything but these days.

But if it makes you feel better....." Oh DAMN that stupid hockey game! I'll never be over it. Their millionaires put the rubber disc in the net more time than our millionaires. DAMN IT ALL TO HELL!!"

See? Sounds stupid doesnt it. Get a grip fool.
