I'd take that all day if I was the Penguins. Not sure Letang would though.

i just cant see geno taking over 10 mil. But to be honest if he asks for anything over 10 mil/year, I may be a little disappointed in him

If that's the case, I wish we still had staal.

Malkin doesn't seem like your typical Russian i.e. just looking for money. He seems to value the team, and especially value that he isn't THE guy, media wise, in Pittsburgh. I think he gets locked up at about the same cap hit. Won't go up too much.

Yes, Dupuis is the only one doing that.

Define more often than not. He certainly isn't doing it as much as Malkin. Maybe we should put Malkin on the 4th line with Adams and Glass.

Too bad. I think he's been our best dman thus far. Good opportunity for Despres to show what he can do though.

If it's 4 weeks, that could be more than a dozen games... that's a decent stretch to lose a valuable player.

Yeah. The schedule really magnifies even a minor injury like this one.

And yes, Canadian, this will be a good chance for Despres to find some rhythm. He has looked less comfortable this year than he did last.

I think last year he was a call up and didn't have any pressure. Making the team out of training camp puts that pressure on a young player. Not to mention he like Letang was early on has been targeted by other teams. Letang had the same growing pains. I said this before in a prior thread when Hal Gill came on the team is when Letang came into his own. Maybe Letang who is still very young can do that for Despres. Or maybe pair him with Orpik. It's not unusual for a young defenseman to struggle. They have to stay with him and quit scratching him from the line up for multiple games. 1 game would have sufficed to get a point across.
