Jeez, thats thought to swallow. Were five games in and they already have 1. I wonder what the stats are for cup winning teams as far as 3 game + losing streaks in a season. - Buffalo--Sabres
Flyers had 0 last year. I now they didn't win the cup but it was mentioned that they haven't had 1 since 2010 or something

It's beyond ludicrous. Last year they had twelve losing streaks of 3+ games. They have won four playoff series in the past 10 years. There is not another organization in the league where Ruff would still be the coach with those results.
I don't think coaching is as important as it is in the NFL, but it is important. This team needs a new dynamic, a new voice. Needed it 5-6 years ago. - jacquescloutier

What are the stats on a team winning a cup with a person coaching the team for 15 years (and have never won the cup before)?

Wow, we (frank)ing suck. I think we as Sabres fans have done a great job of making ourselves beleive we are relevant. I think our chances to win the cup this year are hovering around 2.3%
Sabres have had the talent to win the past 7 years. At some point its the coaching decisions, system and training that have to be the reason a team does not maximize its talent.

Thats debatable. What other team in sports that was knocking on the door of a championship dismantled its team for no reason? Us and the Edmonton Oilers. Differrence is the Oilers have since stockpiled young talent by totally sucking, and we havent. In fact we've been putting a patchwork roster together ever since and this years roster makes less sense than ever. They have no identity except Ryan Miller and the first line.

Very sorry. Typo before. Last year they had SIX (not twelve) losing streaks of 3+ games.

All but about 4 players could sit in a bar for drinks over the weekend and nobody would notice them ot ask for an autograph...
he makes the team better and he is the piece we have been missing but why risk his development in a shortened season? he should get sent down to the juniors to build his confidence dominating there and give him a little more time to develop. too many players get thrown into nhl action too early and it destroys their career. the main one that comes to mind Gilbert Brule
I have always sold myself on the notion that Lindy is a good coach, but he and the team need a change of scenery. Now I am starting to wonder if he's just not a good coach, who has had some decent to great goaltenders along the way.

Miller, Pommer, Vanek, and Kaleta. - JVince11
I dont think that is true. We are fanatics. We would recognize half the Americans roster at a bar. But I think we are drifting (I hope I am wrong) back into 2002-2004 territory. Back then the team was so unpopular my Bro-in law used to be able to sneak me into games without tickets. Players begged to give away autographs. Everything was so laxed.
