here is the main question, do you want to burn a year off of his contract for a lockout shortened season when you have other kids who can take his role this year? wouldn't it be good for him to go back to juniors and dominate there and come into camp next year going for a job? - nastyflyergirl
especially with how crappy this team has been playing..

If the team had heart, grit and desire, it would make sense to keep him up here
If the team is doing the same crap from the last 5 years, no need to keep him up here
he already has more talent then 2/3 of this roster
I do not think the short season should play a part but rather does the coach and gm think this team has a realistic shot to make the playoffs after what they saw on the ice for the first 5 games from this soft team

No, mainly becuase Pegula isn't concerned about saving money or his entry level deal, if this teams goal is to be a contender soon he needs to just play here. Guys play in the league every year that are 18 or 19, this kid has the skill.. Just let him go out and play
If you mean Lindy..He needs to go. Same Coach, same uninspired hockey. At some point its not the players. After 15 Years a new "system" should be implemented. This one isn't winning the cup....

Really, whats the worst that can happen if he stays. Keep him up. - sambarugh
... I agree... just keep him here... we want him to get more adept to NHL play to make him better.... well what is better to get him ready than to have him here...
I hope that the work ethic of a few players don't rub off on him though.
Keep him, move up to 2nd line.......however, this indicates the pitiful state of the Sabres just 5 games in to the season when this much energy is spent on a guy with no points through 5 games.
Talks of trading Myers last year seemed comical; trading him now for some dogpi$$ ice chips from a btoken down ECHL Zamboni not so comical.

well its not necessarily about the money as it is about cap space. entry level deals are great for cap space. but when it comes to re-signing top end players.....well, you know how that goes

My main thing is this, He is 6'3 200 lbs. He's not a scrawny 18 year old like RNH or Taylor Hall when they were drafted, who both got injured to begin their careers. Not saying he will be better but he will be able to take the NHL body checks and physical play that a lot of 18 year old's cannot. Keep him here, he will be fine

And with the extension of Darcy, it means Lindy ain't going anywhere.
