He should stay.
However, he has got to start winning some battles in the corners. - Powerslave
Yes. I noticed everytime Grigs went into a corner for a puck battle he never came out with it. |

and enough with the cross ice passes on the PP.. i don't think he has completed one of them. and on two of them he probably shoudl have just taken the shot instead. - SabresFaninIndiana
Pommers has been guilty of the same exact play .

You're absolutely right, Indy.
I thought he would have learned his lesson after the first one was intercepted, but then you see him do it again on Sunday. You don't want to stifle his creativity, but he cannot be doing that. |

He should stay, easily. But the fact that this is a "no brainer" means he won't. |

Send him back to Quebec and give him time to develop.
(BTW, I like the poll where it asks True or False? -- then the voting arrangement is listed False, then True.) |

i think Scott has taken more shots than he has.. He needs that one goal to give him confidence, i think that could change a few things for him |

The real question Garth is with 5GP 0 PTs and -1 can he still be considered the most complete player in the world? - SENS 613
Take a good look at the rest of our fowards' stats minus the 1st line, then ask this question. |

I'm glad Grigs isn't peaking now, like Myers did in his rookie season.

He won't develop there anymore.. He is a man amongst boys in the Q.
He needs to play this season if you want him to develop. Him developing would be letting him play with the top two lines, giving him more than 8min a game, and let him be on the 2nd PP.
If we send him back who is getting his spot!? Hecht? Ellis? |

There are basically two players on the entire team that have the skill set to make those passes., that's Vanek and Grigo. The team needs more skill players period.
The team has been playing at about a .580 clip for the past decade or more (or so it seems) by using smoke and mirrors. It doesn't win by great coaching, an awesome Power Play or by having a superstar on the roster. It's been luck IMO.
Darcy needs to shake this hunk of junk up by moving a key player or two (no one should be untouchable) and get a budding superstar in here that the fans can cheer about. I'd start in Edmonton. Between Hall, Eberle, Yak and Nuge they have a HUGE bargaining chip that they could move for a quality D man, a winger and picks. |

Send him packing, tell him to take Hecht and Sulzer with him.
We don't need another rookie. We need players that can score.
I waited for the lockout to end so that I could see some decent hockey and this is what we get? Mediocre hockey, I'd rather go to an Amerks game, at least they win games still. |

Am I the only one that notices he is part of the issue of our lack of forecheck.
He shys away from hitting soooo much. He doesn't use his big body to win the puck. I don't think I have seen him win a board battle once. If it gets dumped in he chases in after it but just poke checks at it, doesn't even pin them to the boards.
Hes not ready. Until he learns how to forecheck and use his body to win the puck not just keep it, he isn't an NHL player.
As dumb as this sounds, Ellis right now is better because when he is on the ice we maintain a forecheck and we push the other team around, even if it means there is no scoring chance |

IF thats the case the majority of are teams not a NHL player in your eyes....
But i do agree I see him lose the board battles when he dumps it in |

Forecheck > Scoring chance ?? |

I am starting to really dislike Ruff asa coach. This team looks exactly the same every year, year after year. NO CREATIVITY. Is anyone else watching some of the other games on Center Ice? Tampa Bay has a great skating, creative team that can shoot the puck into small corners of the net. Our team shoots the puck directly into the goalies mid section. I have honestly had enough. Our team is extremely boring to watch. I really can not be much more disappointed overall. - flyingvv

Forecheck > Scoring chance ?? - DWE-74_29
Well a good forecheck leads to scoring chances. I have seen neither out of Grigo.
Also yes half our team are not consistently NHL players. But I have not seen anything out of Grigo that ever screamed NHL player. Some say his defense, but he over commits often and seems to focus being on defense before stepping up and making a play on offense.
Compared to any good defensive forward, they know when to pinch or play offensive, and can work there buts off to get back. Grigo is already back and has way too much defense on his mind. Maybe that's Lindy, but its frustrating to watch. |

And yes he is young and I hope he only gets far better, but I think the board play and forecheck is something you want to see out of a young player and I'd also rather see him make defensive mistakes and learn from them. |

I think Grigs will be an elite player in the NHL and so many teams will feel like idiots for making him slip so far in the draft.
I didn't see any games? Is he playing a lot of minutes? |
