Garrison played in a system that enhanced his points, being on the powerplay and having a caddie tee up his shots for him. Bryan Campbell and his skating helped to make Garrison look like a stud defenceman. Of course, he cashed in on the first sucker that would offer him a large contract with lots of term. Same sucker that signed Luongo to a lifetime contract, and he went downhill after that. It amazes me, how some players, will play like it's the Stanley Cup finals, all year, during their contract year, but once they get their long term deal, they relax. It's up to a good GM to recognize the contenders and the pretenders. Gillis hasn't got a clue! - PrinceLH

I agree. Gillis sucks. Suckity-suck-suck-suck. So suckity. Suck-a-roo. Suck-a-dee-do-da, Suck-a-dee-day.
Wanna know something.... wanna? Ok... Since you asked....
AV is a long serving coach. Unless he wins, he is most likely gone at the end of next year. Right at the same time that Non-suck-suck-suck Nonis will be looking to save his own non-suckity-bum because the Non-Suck Leafs valiantly came in 12th in the conference.
He hired AV as the next Toronto coach.
You heard it hear first.
"Do you know why all the trees in Vancouver lean to the east. It is because Toronto sucks."
(By the way, I do not think Gillis sucks. You mind is bent from a decade of true suckage from your previous 2 GMs) |

Sucks about tonight. I hear Luongo is available. Might want to scoop him up. - systemtool
Sweet Baby Poo ---- after this guy actually complains that I only come into the Leafs blog after a loss, this guy bails on his OWN team during a loss, bails on the Canucks DURING a win, but suddenly arrives like bad poo after a day-old hotdog when the Canucks lose.
All hail Systemtool. |

Come on man, they weren't that bad.
The team just needs to gel a bit, get back in shape... get Kesler and Booth back. If anyone is worried about this team right now you are over reacting. |

Another one of them, Systemtool, was in here posting a goalie stat comparison between leafs and canucks after two games.
He hasn't posted those stats since. |

Ian, I'm glad you're not the coach if you'd bench a player like Hansen for a whole game for something he didn't even get a penalty for. |

It, is very, interesting, how some people, articulate, their, opinions, sometimes.
Garrison got offered more money elsewhere so "first sucker" doesn't really hold water. Give the guy some time to get used to a new system, new partner etc. 5 games isn't very fair.
Saying Lou went downhill after his contract was signed isn't very accurate, he's done everything for this team since except bring home the holy grail.
