I actually liked Garrison and Bieksa out there on the PK, wonder how they would be together as a regular pairing? - 1970vintage
Garrison is looking calmer so far this game.
That pair might work. Garrison has been a solid defensive D so far in his career, so if he can get comfortable it could be a good pair.
It still leaves one D playing on his off side, though. Wonder which one would make the easiest transition? |

Garrison kind of reminds me of Marik Malik.
Is Kassian leading all rookies in goal scoring yet? - boonerbuck
Malik was great on the Canucks. He also scored one of the sickest shootout goals ever. Skates like a giraffe, but was a decent player. |

considering he used up his rookie status last year it hardly matters. |

It's not a competition .We would like to see them all do well - VANTEL
Well, I'm not so sure about that--it kinda looks like the Canucks D have money on which one can make the most bad turnovers this season... |

I'm so impressed with Kassian so far. As good as Hodgson is (and will be), having a fighter in the top 6 is a huge bonus. Having that physical presence on there is huge. |

I won't get ahead of myself but wouldn't shock everyone if he was a calder nominee |

I sure as hell would be considering he's not eligible. |

25 games played in any year renders you ineligible, he had more than that with the Sabres last season. |

I hated that trade with a passion at he time and it's taken me a long time to finally get over it now that Kassian has already showed flashes of dominance and he just turned 22!

I didn't like it, still don't. Not because of the players, but because of the timing. It did nothing to help us last season, in fact it hurt us then. Looks like there are going to be some benefits now however. |

I don't think we had enough gas last year regardless. |

I agree, Hodgson would not have made enough difference to get past the Kings. |

Jesus did Quick look bad on that goal
I'm not sure who looks more scared with the puck in the offensive zone, Tanev or Ballard
At a boy Kassian, stick up for the twins |

Agreed.
Still like Kassian, but we desperately needed secondary scoring and a 2nd unit PP QB in the playoffs last season, and Kassian didn't provide either.
Now that Kassian is starting to live up to his potential, it certainly makes the trade look better. |
