What would you have done? Let him come to amp unhappy or get what you can? Not saying there is a right or wrong answer just curious.
I think he coulda asked for our 2014 First and make it conditional upon us winning the cup in the next 2 seasons that it goes up from a second to that first. - mrhattrick27
Just a random general question, does anyone know the parameters around conditional picks, and if there are any actual guidelines as to what the conditions can be based on? Just thinking now, but I would think these same terms would apply to veteran conditional bonus' in contracts.. |

Arty was promoted to the top line in Columbus, leaving Dubinsky behind on the 2nd line.
Not saying much considering the talent on that team, but I am happy for the guy. Best player we gave up in the Nash deal IMO. |

So PK Subban held out for that? Steal for the Habs. Makes this whole process seem ridiculous. |

Simple fact of the matter is that RFAs have no leverage and will never find a ton of success holding out unless the GM gets desperate. |

Would love to see the Habs fans reactions who felt that a $5mil yearly salary min would be warranted..just not a proven player in my opinion, and the off-ice issues this early in his career would definitely create concern for me going further with his next contract |

He took his bridge contract like Price and Max Pacs did, he will get paid, and long term, when and if he proves he is worth it... |

MDZ got 2.55 million a year.
Subban got 2.85 million a year.
The Capitals gave John Carlson 3.967 million a year?
Hello, which of these is not like the other? |

Not quite sure how much sense it made for Buffalo to give Tyler Myers $5.5 million a year over a 7-8 year term either. |

I know its money. But if your Myers do you even want to sign that contract? I mean he's a good young player who now has a load of pressure and critics all because of his pricetag. Is it really worth it when it could affect your game and career? |

And i know for a fact that his game has gone south every year since signing that deal. Sabre fans are not happy with him. |

It's too much of a burden. I think that hurt Redden, and Gomez, and Drury too. You try and do too much outside your game to be a big time player and prove your worth the salary. |

I just had this discussion last night. Other than when Myers got obliterated by Callahan, when was the last time you saw Myers get mad a had use his strength to his advantage? He needs to bulk up and develope a mean streak. |

None of us wanted Prust to go, but at $2.5 mil a year for four years, he was above what the Rangers could afford or were willing to pay given current and future contracts. - airjan23
I think Rangers would have given Prust 2.5 million a year for two years, not four.
It's obvious they want as much financial flexibility as possible summer of '14. |

I had heard that Subban will get 1.75 this year and then 3 next year, which will increase his qualifying offer...so he did manage to get something out of the holdout, like it matters. He saw Markov putting up points and the Habs winning without him so he flinched |
