I have absolutely no proof that he has ever done HGH or anything ,but that is what I think it is also. To lose your game just like that ,combined with the timing

That would be one reason where he would be forgiven by all

What happened to Ovie? The only thing I can think of is maybe all those steroid allegations maybe were true? Since that story broke he has been a shadow of his old self. I wouldn't want his contract on my team for the next 8 years or what ever he has left on it.
- al3535

Interesting. Are those the allegations that a few Washington based sports teams were being sold steroids? I thought it was more to do with him being a one trick pony and everybody figuring him out. It's highly possible he was on roids.

I said this last year and still believe it every bit as much: Washington should trade Ovechkin. He still has marketable value and his return would still be considerable. I don't think he'll ever regain his former form, at least not at Washington.

When I watch him, he just doesn't have that extra step on other players anymore.

If I was a Caps fan I would only forgive him if he shared.

I disagree. Who wants a 9.5 million for the next 8 years for a guy whose game is falling off faster than a fat couple sharing a single bed?

Ya that's what I think also. It sure makes sense. But who knows. Maybe he just doesn't care anymore?

I think it is more the Washington area sports teams and the steroid allegations. I think Ovie had a few good years before that. Then when the story broke his game went down hill, and has never been the same.

He has value. He's still one of the most high profile hockey players on the planet and that would be of serious interest to struggling markets looking for a marketable asset. Plus he's skating on line with Joey Crabb and Matt Hendricks (I think) so GMs could easily see that as a key culprit. Above all, he's still young and it might just be a change of scene that's required.

Pretty sure Datsyuk isn't on the juice. Speaking of which, Ovi just scored on the PP.

Only problem is Vancouver isn't a contender without Kesler. And really even with him, you saw how the Kings destroyed them last year.

It's a culture thing. Malkin had a huge drop off a few years ago.

Anyone else wondering how Dustin Brown feels today after Mike Richards had to fight his battles last night.

I know I'd be pissed if I got my ass kicked while Brown sat on the bench smirking

Now that's leadership and another example as to why LA may not make the playoffs.

How would you compare it to when 5'9 Marchand b&#$h slapped one of the sisters and not one teamate came to help.

Yup. What kind of a garbage team loses to the eventual SC champs

And only about half of the mainstream analysts/sports-sites predict that they'll get to the finals this season.

Definitely ridiculous to consider the Canucks possible contenders...

He is definitely back now. But who knows for sure. Should be a good game with the Sharks and you guys tonight. Hopefully another rough game like the Anaheim one the other night. Clowe and Kassian I hope go.

The Kings destroyed everyone last year, including St Louis who so many think is a contender this year.
