If this Tarasenko kid turns out to be the player he looks like he'll be, what do you think the Blues are going to have to pay him in order to hang on to him?
So I wouldn't get too disgusted by that kind of money, because rest assured the Blues will have to dish out same or similar to keep high talent like Tarasenko.

If he manages to hit his ceiling as be as good as advertised, probably around the 6mil a year given to Eberle & Hall. Even at max contract length of 8 years, that's 48 million. Less than half the contract you gave Parise and Sutter. So no, the Blues won't "have to dish out same or similar to keep high talent like Tarasenko."
