Flyers haven't generated enough offense to win this game. Leighton hasn't been very good that is for sure.

One thing's for sure they need to get the lead outta their asses on these back to backs. No time for slouching on a consecutive day in this shortened season.
- JoeRussomanno

They need to get the lead out period. They need to suck it up, forget about injuries, play physical but smart, and string a winning streak together. Wiggle room for error is smaller this season and they have wiggled quite a bit here in the early going.

Leighton's shaky goaltending is the secondary story. Flyers getting way to many shots blocked. It's like it's Matt Carle Muffin Shot Night

yeah, I agree ... Bryz or Leighton, either way we'd lose with this effort.

Agreed. If the other team is going to block so many shots, make them pay a price to do so. Break the oppositions (frank)ing feet instead of your own.

He's been invisible for the last few games.

Nursing an injury, maybe?? I wouldn't doubt it with this team

Flyers look awful as a team in this one. Swagger is gone. That one-touch shot by Read that he didn't lift really would have changed the entire game back in the first.

It's not just that the selection is really dumb. Timonen had a dude right in front of him and shot it into his shins & out to center

I hope Bryzgalov plays 40-42 games. Start Leighton on the second of back to backs against non-Divisional opponents and that's it.
- PLindbergh31

I'm thinking 35 myself. If we make the playoffs I don't want Bryz cooked like Chernobyl

D looked like they were playing rod hockey on that one. Just a poor effort all around. Moral of the story is win game 1 of the back to backs or it'll be a long season.

Maybe .... so Bryz would've played exactly like Leighton. Come on

Momentum saves, killing penalties.... those are game changers

Leighton starting 13 games, coupled with the slow start and injuries would make it near impossible to make the playoffs imo.

would have been a 3 - 1 loss ... maybe 2 - 1.

unless we had scored on one of those PP chances, but we didn't.

I think they kind of wrote off this game from the beginning. 2nd half of a back to back against a team they never beat.. I could see beat down all over this game.. throw leighton to the wolves and get to New York.

Think I said earlier I'd be happy if he holds them under 6 ...gulp. But he's gotta be able to crank some wins out. Who knows maybe well see ol Boosh before long.
