Because one of them is so glaringly obvious that it doesn't need to be pointed out. I need to remember to go to other sites for Canucks news. It is possible to read news about the Canucks without hypocritical annoying pointless snide jabs at other teams' players, and I for one find it much more enjoyable.
Hey Ian, you forgot to use "Yakupoving" in a sentence. Let me try... *ahem*
"The Canucks fan base really enjoyed Yakupoving over their President's Trophies."
You'd never believe it, but there are a lot of people who want to be sympathetic to Canucks fans. I generally would love to see you (frank)ers hoist a Cup and get a seat at the Big Boys table, but when I listen to this kind of rubbish I wish the fan base was a gigantic face so it could be punched. - thefullnelson

Well I did predict that I would end last . I like the pools you go and pick and check at the end of the year. This maintaining thing sucks - VANTEL
I'm having a hot week. Doubt I'll be able to keep it up.
You have a solid team. Better hope Dubnyk can pick it up, though—don't think Rinne will be able to carry your goalie stats on his own. |

6-1 - VANTEL
Yeah, winter in Florida. I'm sure i'd stay inside the rink with my team getting pasted. After all, you want to get full value for that $6 ticket. |

So, do you think Gillis left a voice mail for Tallon and Nonis? |

I truly believe Gillis that he's not too concerned about trading Lou. It's worth keeping him for the compressed schedule this year. We play 15 games in 4 weeks down the stretch..... |

The cap is dealt with. Unless we're getting something really good, Lu is going to be better. I'm fine with keeping both guys for this year. Unless is gets weird or we get some serious value, I like having 2 good goalies. |

Yes, it has to be overpayment IMO. Otherwise, the offers in the summer won't be much worse or could even be better than the current ones. Definitely not the time to panic. |

Even if the Canucks end up having to buy him out, it's better than having to take back any type of salary with term that does not fit the team needs. Aside from that, if Lou can help the team get deeper into the playoffs then it goes a long way to paying for that buyout. |

Some people in hockey are such crotchety old men. It's like they are really playing for life and death and laughing is some kind of dereliction of duty. If it was a goal when the Oilers were up by 3, he'd be a dink. If they were getting blown out and he did it, he'd be a clown. It was a late tying goal and it was a little over the top. But really, who cares? Let the kid celebrate how he wants. - micah555
The day its stops being fun is the day you quit hockey it may have been a little over the top but hes having fun. Who cares I love the passion of the kids. Nfl players do a dance when they score and there penalized for it. Just wait soon the old men of hockey will implement a rule to stop celebrations after a goal. Its all about fun and CROTCHETY OLD MEN some times take the fun right out of it. |

Gillis"You'll give us what for Luongo?" - thundachunk
Phone convo with Gillis and Nonis, Tambellini and Snow:
Gillis: Alright, the conference call has been set up. Dave, Steve, Garth... I want to thank you for your time and your interest in Roberto, who as you all know is an all-star calibre goalie who needs a change in scenery. This conference call is for you to give me your best offers and we'll see if we can't make a deal somewhere. Dave, we'll start with you.
Nonis: Mike, I got to tell you, that contract is horrible, and it's an albatross around your neck... I'll only take him if you send us Raymond and Connauton and take a bad contract back like Komisarek, in return I'll also give you Reimer, Ashton and Franson.
Gillis: *sarcastic tone* Tempting, but I think we can do better than that, the Vancouver Canucks have no interest in taking a bad contract back. When we signed Roberto, it was a deal for a cap hit that wasn't overly burdensome and at the time, it was always understood that Roberto would retire before the contract was up, giving us relief. Steve?
Tambellini: Well, we're pretty happy with our goaltending, and I'm not sure what we could offer you that you'd accept. We will NOT be trading any of our big 5 of Justin Schultz, Hall, Eberle, Nugent Hopkins or Yakupov, the best we could do is Dubnyk, Gagner and Paavarti for Luongo.
Gillis: Better, but since the Edmonton Oilers are a division rival, we'd need much more than that to offset the fact that we'd be sending you an all-star calibre player at the most important position. Tell you what Steve, I'll get back to you after Garth makes his offer... Garth?
Snow: Mike! We NEED Roberto back! I'm so desperate that I'll give you Tavares, Okoposo and Hamonic if you'll take DiPietro off our hands for Luongo, Raymond and Ballard.
Gillis: Say what? Gentlemen, I think we have a deal here... Dave, Steve, last chance to sweeten your offers before I accept Garth's deal?
Nonis: ... Fine, I'll give you Bozak, Gardiner, Ashton, Percy and our 1st rounder for Luongo, Raymond and Ballard.
Steve: *interrupts quickly* And I'll trade you RNH, Justin and Yakupov.
Gillis: *chuckles* Ok, I'm going to hang up now and think this over carefully and I'll let you all know individually what my decision is, on behalf of the Vancouver Canucks organization, thank your for your time, goodbye.

Luo won't be starting on sunday. Sharks are hot right now and you want to test your #1 goalie against the best. Easy choice. |
