I think this void needs to be filled sooner rather than later. With the style of hockey we play regularly, and the pace of the season thus far, I think the Preds are on tap to see more shootouts than the other teams.

I think you just answered your own question. Not only that, but Trotz is deliberately short-handing his team with his benching of Smith. We never saw him after the weird penalty. It seems a lousy point to try and make with a guy, especially after Hornqvist went down.

I don't believe accuracy drills are part of the Preds practice repertoire. They're consistently one of the worst passing and worst shooting teams in terms of accuracy.

I haven't had a chance to watch the Hornqvist/Getzlaf play, was it bad luck or intent to injure?

How in the balls is Klune still in the lineup? I mean....is this seriously how shallow our system is? To call him an "enforcer" is a MASSIVE overstatement. If he is the best thing they can put out then the Preds are in a ton of trouble...

I'm more concerned with Spaling and Yip in the line up. Klune is only gonna play 4:00 if he's lucky.

The dude hasn't come close to winning a fight. I would rather see a player with that thing called skill out on the ice than one that goes out there and gets pummelled consistently.

The Preds had better get this slow start crap out of their system fast. No waiting until January to get hot this year cuz....uhhh...it is January.

This is typical Preds hockey. The biggest difference this year is that the goalie isn't bailing them out. I'm a little more put off by this team's slow start though simply because they talked all during the lockout about how much of last year's team they retained and how it would help them in a shortened season. Whatever!

I still expect them to turn it around in the next couple of weeks, although that fourth line doesn't scare anyone.

Not only is Rinne not bailing them out, he is also looking a bit ordinary at times (for an elite goalie, anyway). He's made some great saves as usual but, as you indicated, not enough and certainly not in the superhuman realm which is what it takes to overcome the Preds' abundant slew of offensive and defensive shortcomings.

Too many times it seems as though each player on the ice is playing alone - not very aware of what's going on around them. Deer-in-the-headlights play.

They aren't creating chances.

What's with Lane Lambert's hair? Looks kind of odd with the huge bangs hanging off of one side. Maybe he should just go all out and try this - might change our luck. (Would certainly loosen up the guys on the bench.)
