Would it be reasonable to think Crow would start tomorrow as well? It's nice that tonight's game starts earlier (coverage would start 12pm here), so i'm not as backwards for staying up and watching the whole game this time - prd797
Not sure what Q has in mind as far as the 'tenders go...but wouldn't it be a midnight start time in Scotland ?

Real good write up today JJ,
Hawks are flying! We seem to be getting to all the loose pucks and the passing has been real good. Keeping the minutes down for Keith and Seeb's, by playing the 3rd paring more has been a god send!!! I know people clamour about muscle up front and goalie's but I would wait at least 15-20 game before I did anything.... 6-2 Hawks sounds good to me tonight!!!! |

I hope he is right because if not I will need to crack open a box of Cabernet to give me the strengh to watch him Flip and flop chasing pucks
Maybe I need to lighten up on Ray - PEIHawkFan
Keep a good supply of vino handy if Razor stays on the team. His first outing was not visually impressive. However, he did make a huge save that went largely unnoticed, when the score was 6-4, so he didn't fold completely. However, his technique was extremely sloppy in his season debut. And though i credit him for the courage to come back from such a devastating injury, i'd be much happier if the organization thanked him and sent him on his way. |

Tweet Hawks beat writer Tim Sassone
No, Corey gets them both . “@CoryRitter: @TimSassone think Emery will start on sat. To have Crawford start vs Detroit on Sunday?” |

Yeah that's what I meant . A 12am start would be magnificent for me, doubt old John McEgo and Stan "The Man With No Plan" would ever try to get a game scheduled that early for the rest of ya. |

Myers tweets
Crawford indeed in tonight. Mayers remains in on that fourth line for the #Blackhawks and Steve Mason will start in net for Columbus. |

Hammer really stood out against Dallas because you heard the Dallas announcer saying "Har-melsson" a LOT. - John Jaeckel
Razor is a great announcer for Dallas..one of the best in the game, but yea he was butchering hammers name all night |

A top goalie needs to play in back to back games at times....
This is a short trip and Crawford needs to prove he can be up to the challenge. |

If Crow doesn't outplay Steve Mason, something is definitely wrong. |

Lets say Crawford is bad tonight , 3 goals on 16 shots , Hawks still win 4-3 , Emery starts tomorrow and looks bad westher the Hawks win or not , when will the Hawks look for a real goalie ??
A lot is covered up by winning. Crawford was not great in the LA game or the Dallas game. The Hawks could be 2-2 . |

Probably not...
They don't drop out of the sky and most likely would have to wait closer to the deadline.
Crawford is going to give up more than two goals in some games...
Crawford was fine in LA...Screen shots and tips in aren't going to be always stopped.
Not even the very best do that.
This team is built and paid to score....As long 3/4 goals are scored and they are winning nothing will change. |

It's nice to be able to read some game stuff again JJ
This year, instead of moving the puck around the perimeter to stationary players, the players are moving, too and it seems they are being allowed to be instinctive as much as scripted.
This is such a big difference.
Watching Tampa's PP when Stamkos is out there is very similar.. You never know where any of them are going to be and it creates confusion among defensive players playing the classic 4 man box and it almost always creates an open one timer. |

Without a puck, straight ahead speed, Stally.
Leddy is a superior skater on all four edges, even more so with a puck.
But like most dmen Leddy wouldn't like Stally coming at him with a full head of steam.
GO HAWKS! |

We need to get this guy under contract soon! Tough to replace a guy with size, speed and shot.
I like his interviews, he says playing on the third line will help him to become a more complete player. |

Crawford is in goal according to Chris Kuc: http://www.chicagotribune...-20130126,0,6575522.story - AL SEC0RD
Ya posted before I was caught up,thanks.Seems Hawks are more concerned with winning than checking Rays progression. If CC plays well I don't think you see Ray sooner than sat.in Calgary? |

While I still would like a guy with Slater skills, I think q can't break up the chemistry of Kruger and Frolik or Stalberg and Bickell. Unless they get said center, lines are working for now as Q rolls 4. Shaw understands his limitations and is more apt to dump and get on the forcheck, which is nice to see. This mitigates some of his offensive inability at C while still making that line tough to play against. Hope Bicks keeps this up. We have seen him in the past have a few physical games only to disappear for a month. |

Looking forward to my first Hawk game of the year in person as well as my Nationwide arena debut. Kind of shocked we're not gonna get the Bollig-Boll dustup tonight as Jammer is back in there. But I'm sure Boll will go after someone.
Guarding like hell against over confidence. With Detroit tomorrow followed by a lengthy road trip it's easy to look past this. But even if they are, shouldn't a distracted, less than 100% beat these clowns?
Still would like to see Shaw and Kruger flipped. Stals and Bickell have been playing really well and would benefit from a center who isn't as sporadic as Shaw has been. But other than that, this team is going great guns. Should be able to carry the weekend I would think.
Onwards. |
