Would I trade Shultz for Jake ? As an Oiler fan no because he fits into the shiny new toy concept that you continually sell.

Would I trade Jake for Shultz, at this point it's too close to a wash. We know what we have in Jake, Shultz is still a question mark. However the concussion Jake had might push me into accepting a trade.

They're very similar players, both far better offensively then playing defence. Shultz in his own zone looks so lost and scared .

oh i will continue to laugh, dont worry.
but i also dont understand what u meant. they're either laughing WITH us or AT us..not both/

and are u under the impression that fans everywhere (including your own) dont think the leafs are a joke? 40 years of absolute mediocrity bro. didnt espn rank u as the worst franchise in sports??!!

i hate these stupid conversations, but dude, you're a leafs fan. the definition of "glass house"

Yes and Espn is a fantastic source to quote about hockey. Won me over with that and your in depth knowledge about the Leafs past. Bravo

Good answer... Except for the last part, grossly underrated in his own zone.

Are you for real? Have you been watching him play or do you just buy into hype? Watch him live and then tell me if the kid can play defence or if he's a 4th forward. Can he move a puck? Yes, can he pass ? Yes. Does he look like he might just crap himself whenever he's in his own zone ? Yes.

ha. ok.

the epitome of failure since expansion in 1967

longest current playoff drought
zero cups in over 40 years
only 3 years in that entire timeframe anywhere near above average
the 2nd worst winning percentage in the entire effin 80's
1 division title in 40 years!!!
0 conference titles
0 finals appearances
0 hart trophies
0 norris trophies
0 calder trophies
ranked the worst franchise in the entire north american sporting market for 2012
and dont even get me started on how may 1st/2nd team all stars theyve had!!

and with so many brutal years of ugly hockey they still charge the highest ticket rates!!
ud also think they be loaded with prospects!! nope. they rank in the bottom half of the league in that too!!!
and no end in sight.

again, glass house brah

The question is flawed, I've explained why the question itself is pointless. It clearly comes Down to a personal risk/taste. Lets say you put Jake at a 8/10 for skill with a higher chance of maintaining that level due to a proven performance in the NHL. Now Shultz gets a rank of 8.5-9 /10 on skill however there's a chance based on him being a fresh commodity that he won't be as good as the hype that surrounds him.

A safe bet is to take the more proven player if other attributes are similar. A risky bet is take the player with a higher potential.

Are you asking me if I'm more of a risk taker? Or do I play safe?

Who the Frak cares?

Schultz and Schultz were top pairing d-men against the Stanley Cup champs and he's only in his 3rd game. Justin has eased into the NHL just fine.

Okay, so if it comes down to "personal taste", you're saying some might take Ryan Nugent-Hopkins, while others could prefer Eric Belanger?

Yah, I ignore dribble about things that are obviously non related. The leafs have been poop. Do you think you're more aware of this fact then a did hard leafs fan? I see this as pointless.

As someone who lives in edmonton I'm excited to continue to watch a good young team. Now fire the GM and Coach and Ill be even more pleased. However I don't buy the over hyped play of Shultz. A future pmd who'll play limited-no PK, and be a pp specialist. As someone who watched Kaberle for years, they're nice toys but nothing to write home about.

If you choose to make obvious examples to help your cause ill play into them.

Yes SOME might ....

Remember, JayBo will give you an incredibly deep defence.... I hear good things.

How dare I "hate on Shultz" if I did... I think you're reading compression (auto correct for the win )is limited because of your nature.

I can see you're easily impressed. He might be the best thing for the Oilers. Jones will look good on this team. At what point will there be a system in place that doesn't result in a bottom 3 pick?

I notice you didn't correct the "fire the Gm" comment.
