Na man. No matter what. NHL or AHL after this year Baertchi will have 2 years left on his ELC. He's being paid to play in the AHL or NHL.
Only diff in the AHL and NHL salary on ELC's is the bonus's.
They dont get to have Baertchi play for free in the AHL. Theyre paying him no matter what. - poisondhearts37
that's correct |

no, that's not how it works, 1 year will be gone. Hall, Ebs, RNH, were allowed to sign AHL contracts under special rules because of the lockout. It was a totally different scenerio, but if there wasn't a lockout, they would burn a year of their contract. However, it's usually a 2 way contract and they earn the lower amount when they play in the minors. - SuperM
Hall, Eb's and Nuge didnt sign AHL contracts. Theyre on ELC's. Which means they can play in the AHL or NHL and none of them were waiver eligable. If one of them were waiver eligable they would of went to Europe or not played. |

no, there was a special rule for the lockout and players under a certain age. They signed AHL contracts. I know it sounds odd, but that was the story when they went down. I only heard about it when Hall went down. I don't know where I could get the information to back that up, but that is what the Oilers said at the time. |

Players with contracts with NHL teams cant sign a AHL contract. Hench why Dubinsky and a bunch of guys signed with ECHL teams. Kyle Clifford for LA couldnt be sent down to Manchester our AHL affiliate team. So he signed a ECHL contract. I think they may of put a weird waiver clause in so that they coudlnt of been claimed on waivers. But if Eberle who is from the same draft year as Clifford was sent down and Clifford couldnt. Thats odd. I know the Kings wanted Cliff to be in Manchester. |

Yeah, it sounds inconsistent. There were obviously some temporary rules put in place, but why one player could be sent down and the other couldn't is confusing. |

Hall got signed to an AHL contract with an out clause because he was on the IR to start the season and would've risked waivers. RNH and Eberle on ELC 2-way contracts, isn't that how they got sent down? |

Yeah, that's probably why i heard of Hall AHL contract and not the others. Now, that makes sense. |

Capgeek still has him on a 3 yr ELC with slide risk. Thats all I'm going on.
If that is correct, he can be sent down without burning a year as long as he doesnt play 5 games. They have been wrong before though. |

Hall was an exception. I have no idea why Clifford would not have been able to go down. He is still on his ELC with a two way. |

You can be on a two way and be waiver eligable. Ala Hickey. Once you hit a certain age or so many games played. Its just weird that Clifford wasnt able to go down while Eberle was. Since they the same draft class. I think they are atlest. Eberle was Brayden Schenn draft yeah? Cuz Cliff was. |

Eberle was drafted in 2008 the Doughty/Tuebert draft where Schenn/Clifford were drafted in 2009. |

wow no one knows the rules except for super m? of course you burn a year of ELC if he plays in the AHL. All entry-level contracts are 2-way where players are paid up to 900k in NHL and around 60 k in AHL not including bonuses. Players who have played a full nhl season (or i actually think its 60 games but I could be wrong on that) and who are on the ELC still would be subject to waivers. Technically hall and eberle wouldn't have been able to be sent down at beginning of the year but this is a special case because of the lockout. They signed an AHL deal with a clause where the deal ends when the lockout ends, just like the players who went to Europe.
As a habs fan for example, blunden and desjardins played in AHL Hamilton but when the lockout ended, , they had to be subject to waivers to go back down to AHL. |

How would he not burn a year. Hes not going to juniors. Hes going the AHL. That usually burns years off. If this isnt the case then what makes it so he doenst burn a year? - poisondhearts37
He burns a year in the AHL. Iggy'sboyfriendforever is talking out his arse again. |

Right. Beartchi will play in the AHL this year and still have a full 3 years on his ELC as long as he does not play more than 5 games in the NHL. He would go down to Abbotsford and get paid his AHL salary not his NHL salary (similar to when Eberle, Nuge and all went down for the start of the year, they did not get paid their NHL Salary, just their AHL salary). - Iggysbff

I think the guys that were AHLer's for the lock out (Hence not SCABS like the rest of them that went to Europe) were on ELC's still. Though Hall had to sigh an AHL contract after he came off the NHL IR. So I am not 100% sure how that worked. But there was some new rule created for the lock out about no waivers. I do know that.
Taylor Hall @hallsy04 30 Oct
Got served my divorce papers today. Officially off the IR

Once again you stupid female genitalia.
I'm going off of what it says on capgeek. It shows him on slide still. If thats wrong then fine. Once again your acting like a wiener. I'm ashamed that you are an Oiler fan. Your kind usually cheer for Vancouver or the Leafs.
