I think the nhl should make a rule that fines him every time he scores if he doesn't celebrate like this...talk about bringing excitement back to our game.

This team is going to be mental once the D gets shored up.

May as well hand Shultz the Calder now.

yes he showboated a bit after. do you really have to post it in multiple threads?
- sanfordnson

Totally understandable showboating. After the goal was allowed and then called back for them to score again to tie it with seconds remaining was HUGE, especially for a young team like this.

Yak is an energetic guy who's got passion for the game and has fun playing it. I hope the media doesn't start bashing him as a showboater. I think the league needs more energetic guys like him.

Edm probably staying put in search for another goalie with this move. I like to see what Danis can do in the net with bulin out and dubnyk taking a night off. Otherwise the other option is Ben bishop from Ottawa.

When the league is suffering from a lockout, yakupov's enthusiasm and other players' excitement is what will drive the energy of fans to come back. I really don't see anything wrong with it.

Don Cherry can shove it - as long as he hasn't offended his teammates by skating past them to celebrate with the crowd it's OK by me.

People of Rome! Are you not entertained?

- thefullnelson

All of this.

FFS, he even said part of the reason he put his face in his palms is because he was so overcome he too realized "what the fukk did I just do?"

I love it. It was raw emotion and yes, the kid has watched a lot of soccer

If stuff like this continues premeditated, it will get annoying. Annoying like the CFL endzone stuff a few years back. That was was just bad. Guy scores a touchdown and poses for multiple photos while his teammates mime out the red carpet photographers.

I'm not even an Oilers fan and I was cheering after that goal. Given the circumstance it was hard not to cheer along with Yak when he scored it.

After what happened in that game 999/1000 times it ends with LA winning 1-0.

This was that 1 time.

If they claimed him on waivers, they can't send him to the AHL, why do people alway makes this mistake whenever discussing waivers?

3. The Oilers needed to pick up a goalie for organizational depth reasons. My guess is he'll be sent to play for the Oilers farm team in OKC, and Tyler Bunz will return to the Stockton Thunder of the ECHL.

Funny thing I felt sorry for Lupal after he signs that extension and then breaks his arm on a Phaneuf shot.
On a side note: I can't wait till the Oilers start winning games in regulation This OT stuff is cool but I already have enough grey hair.......lol

Why not get Roloson? If you plan on making the playoffs, he is gold!
- Jimmy_wiener

Roli used to be a beast! lol, loved it when he would go ape poop if a player ran into him, or in the playoffs when he would pick up the puck and baseball side arm swing and bat the puck down the ice. What a beauty...

But old as dirt now.. lol

why are people complaining about Yak?
I wouldn't care if Doughty scored and did the same thing. Yak is adding a dimension to the oilers that makes them something that the flames are not, entertaining.
