If he dives more than Kessler and Burrows he should be in the Olympics. |

every other player in the league is trained to dive like a soccer player. its disgusting that it is actually part of training, and that diving penalties arent called every single time. it should be a suspendable offense. |

I would rather have Sekera than PK any day. I think most GMs feel the same way. If I can pay 2.75 for a player that isn't causing troubles in the locker room and is a better overall player, why pay 2x that? |

I don't know about you guys, but I would be afraid of giving PK his big contract and then watching him sit on it for 8 years. I think he knows he will never be good enough in the next 2 years to earn a big contract, so he his trying to hit his home run right now. What has he ever done to earn 6 million a year? |

He's Bobby Orr's surrogate son... |

I like Subban.. I think that his agent has given him a false sense of the going rate... should have tried to get this contract done before the CBA.. but I know it's hard not knowing where the cap was going to be.. |

I don't think he's that type of guy. He's flashy/cocky but no one can argue with his work ethic. He gives 100% every shift which is why fans love him. |

i don't think P.K. deserves what he's asking for, but that statement is just ridiculous. |

Steve Begin gives 100% every shift too. Doesn't mean you are with 6 million a year. He makes awful decisions fairly often, gets caught deep in the offensive zone leaving his d-man by himself, he can't hit the net on th PP anymore, and he is too cocky for his age/ experience. I don't know how anyone can say he is worth that. |

His ceiling is worth 5-6M easy, and with his work ethics and athletic abilities, I dont see how he's not gonna reach it.
I was saying he gives 100% every shift to respond to you "he's gonna sit on it" comment.
But I agree he shouldn't be paid more than 4M for now. |

Habs should offer him 2 years 4 million per. That more than Kris Letang is making. If PK is so good, he should have no trouble showing he is worth doughty/chara/ weber money in those 2 seasons. If he won't accept it, he just shows you that he is too cocky for his own good and the habs would be better off without the distraction. |

He's good. Not great (yet), but good. My issue with him is he makes mistakes in his own end and sometimes seems emotionally challenged out there. As if it does not take much to get him off his game. |

He is too cocky to be a great defenceman. He is always going to do those end to end rushes that work 1 out of 10 times. Sure its fun to watch, but it costs his team. |

I just feel like he would fit in well on the flyers. They have already have Wayne. And after you get Subban, get Anson Carter and Kevin weeks to come out of retirement |

Exactly. I would even make the argument that he hasn't really shown 4 per type skill yet. But neither has any D on Buffalo this year yet either. |

First off nobody is saying $6.5 million because Karlsson is an amazing offensive player and Subban is not that type of player.
But if you disregard his abilities then you are underestimating the guy. He is the best Dman on the team. Plays the most minutes, plays against oppositions best and excels in his own zone. He is a very good all around player who definitely still has alot to learn.
Is he an elite player right now, no but he is also a player who's stock is on the rise.
And yes the compatibles you have are crazy especially Letang but the problem is that there are many RFA contracts out there all over the place.
Myers: $5.5
Pitkanen: $4.5
Doughty: $7
Green $6.1
So yes there are guys in the $4 million range and then there are guys in the $6 million range which is why he'll likely settle in the $5 million range.
And yes alot of that is because he is flamboyant because he is a king in this city, beleoved by all and sells a crap load of tshirts and jerseys for the organization. - willey101
PK does deserve this kind of cash. |
