Wasn't an offer sheet though. They paid slightly over market value for Bryz nonetheless.
I think Montreal would match an offer sheet unless it was in the top two compensation brackets. |

If he signs great, you then have a solid kid while also hurting Mtl with low rate picks in the 20-30th range. If he does not sign then you still hurt Mtl by tying their hands to a deal they don't necessarily like.
Win win within the division. |

even though montreal could afford 5+ for 8, he's not that type of player and will never live up to those expectations. trade him now for equal value before he becomes a good player/bad contract guy. |
