I mean, I guess this is what we get for letting them have so many chances but I'm not really happy that we got 5-6 penalties one after the other. might as well rolled a die and said this is how many goals they get then let us play 5 on 5.

We overcame an awful lot to win tonight. A few questionable calls I thought.

Brodeur played really well again, neither goal being his fault. Extremely impressed with the team game being played here. Extremely coordinated all three zones.

Eh, defense looked poor again. Marty had to make a ton of amazing stops to keep us in it. The train of powerplays gave a point to a team that shouldn't have gotten it.

That game should not have gone to OT. Washington looks like absolute crap and it should have been a rout.

I agree, don't get me wrong I'm ecstatic we have 6 of a possible 6 points but we need to tighten up and it needs to be now. A Boston or a Pittsburgh will eat us alive as we are now. I'm afraid we're gonna sit on our laurels with the 3-0-0 record and not smooth everything out, but Deboer is a great coach, I'm sure he sees what we see and will crack the whip

Agreed. This team is pretty much what I expected. Not a whole lot of top end talent but they will find a way to win. Brodeur has exceded my expectations greatly. He looks ageless.

He really is. I'd find myself saying, dammit why are you playing Harrold, dammit why isn't Larsson playing, etc.

And his moves turn out right a really high proportion of the time. And to make the move to Harrold in the playoffs took guts. Some coaches might have just stayed with Larsson and regarded him as a more sure thing. This guy does whatever he thinks gives the team the best chance to win and that's it. His system is excellent for this team too. Not a trap, but the team is still very well schooled in defensive principles.

Considering the coaching carousel prior to his arrival, we got REALLY lucky.

I wouldn't say poor. He made some big saves, yeah definitely. But sometimes goalies have to do that. We just haven't seen as much of it from Brodeur the last few years as we have this year.

And the penalties...yeah that has to be cut out. But I thought the PK really pressured the Caps into tons of mistakes which led to SH rushes on several occasions. It caused them to have trouble setting up. And 5-on-5 we had the one monster defensive breakdown in the first period but thought otherwise the D was really good in front of the net. No easy rebounds at even strength. Strong on their sticks in front.

I'm telling you we're going undefeated this year!
