What has he done that is worse than the overall team effort? To me he looks like he's skating hard and even back checking. He knows what he's supposed to do, he just has to execute it properly.

He's failed to get the puck deep and clear the zone a couple times. The effort is definitely there, just seems a bit off.

He didn't exactly do much positive that period. He didn't get it deep and made some bad plays in the offensive zone. Not surprised that he was taken off the top line at the end of the period.

I'm not sure if JJ will ever be a 2nd line center, but he'll be a very good 3rd line pivot. And that's fine, since we'll hopefully have Zajac and Henriue for a while.

that play on the goal was a beauty not sure if he got it over since the announcers just said it went off the defender to gionta ? lol i thought he passed it to him but whatever i am watching it from the caps broadcast then he had a good rush and a good shot near the end there

It did come off the defenders stick, but it was a still a nice move.

its been killing me haha my free nhl center ice will be up before I get to see many of the games I have been having to watch all the other teams in the atlantic cheer for the other team to beat them haha

He's a smart player though, like Zajac. I think if you ask us how many ever years ago if he would be a first line center we wouldn't say that but he is now.

Seems like a reasonable line of thought. Some of the other teams though have benefited or struggled. Hawks are on fire although their goal tending sucks but that's par for the course. And then Kings, Flyers, Caps, just hurting. Hard to say what's what.

I think its still possible he'll be a second line center, but I don't know if his offense will ever develop. He is all over the ice and effective in all 3 zones and still has some good skill.

oh yea and there is now way when you are going straight for him that you jump right over him even though he tried what i would call a little jump lol

I love that we're doing penalty killing drills right now.
