5 games for a 1st infraction?

Lose JT and you lose a hell of a lot more than a game. Just sayin......

Besides. Losing the game because of overaggressive behavior is merely a worst case possibly not a given. The long term good could in fact put more "W's" on the board for us.

You slash, crosscheck and jab him enough and he'll stop running. Everyone has a breaking point. Its up to the Isles to find it. So far. They havent really tried.

Someone is gonna run JT one of these days and he wont get back up. Then we'll all be saying what a bunch of wusses the Isles were for not protecting the Franchise.

Can you imagine what would go on in Pittsburgh if Crosby was high sticked in the head or Malkin were crosschecked into the boards from behind.

Or in Philly if Claude Giroux was run.

Rangers would go ballistic if Richards or Ryan Callahan were abused.

If the officials are gonna let our guys (especially JT) get run with no ramifications. Yea its time to take matters into our own hands.

Last time we did that we had two suspensions and over $150k in team fines. Knowing Charles distaste for violence and larger distaste for losing more money, we're more likely to put Barney in uniform and send him out to give Dion a hug...wait...I mean Sparky.

bet the over tonight...

also ive seen enough of finley (and to a lesser extent AMAC and carkner), i think its time Hickey gets into a game...if we're concerned that the team is too soft with finley out, play boulton and scratch reasoner...

Saving money all the while improving cross border relations, sounds good I like it!

I like Carkner in there. But I'd like to see Hickey in there for Finley, and maybe even Martinek in for AMac.

edit -- looked like they mercifully split up Carkner and Finley. Thought I saw Streit-Carkner out there together a lot, although I was doing some work around the house last night so wasn't paying close enough attention to tell whether that was deliberate or if they just happened to be out together between line changes a few times.

Got to say it is pretty funny that Phanuef turned the puck over to run away from Carkner and Islanders put it right in the net. That is more embarrassing than Phaneuf turtling when challenged. When your cowardice costs your team a goal, you have hit a new low. That was pathetic to watch and no one in Toronto is calling him out on it. That is why they haven't been to the playoffs in 8 years lol.

I think Isles need to scratch Reasoner and put Boulton in tonight. See no reason to take Czizkas out of the game as I thought he has been doing his job well

Not so much that the team is soft, but other teams have to know they cannot just take runs at our top players. Like someone stated earlier can you imagine if that was Crosby? I am happy if other teams just know thay cant do that then actually having to lose guys to suspension or fines.

I also think the Islanders need to pick up the physical play besides fighting. Lot of big boys out there and not a lot of hitting. Like Okposo's game so far but he still skates around trying to avoid hits. Need someone on that top line to throw a few checks and open ice for JT. But overall, I am pretty happy with the team and Snow looks pretty good with his waiver pickups. Strait and Aucoin have been impressive. Everybody Rags on Finley, but he is busting it out there and is inexperienced. Just need him to get confident so he can throw his body around. Playing a little tentative

looks like they were testing out different defensive combos...like i said, to a lesser extent RE: carkner...i have more patience with him.

finley is taking up room...bring in hickey.

im not talking about last nights game...

im saying if someone thinks the WOULD BE soft IF they scratch finley, then boulton for reasoner is the move that should accompany the hickey for finley move.

i still remember last year's eddie westfall night massacre. isles were nice enough to let the b's be the home team (they brought black sweaters and 75% of the fans). i think even eddie was wearing a b's sweater. awkward.

the brooklyn pipe dream aside, do you guys prefer wang moves you to quebec city or greater toronto? do you then still root for the new isles or become bruins or devils fans? i apologize for assuming there's enough dignity left not to follow the rangers.

thats exactly the point; this is the NHL, "playing a little tentative" gets you scratched from the lineup. i think everyone sees him "busting it out there" and i dont think anyone is blaming him for for being "inexperienced", we just cant afford to wait around for him to get confident.

Think of Charles like a restaurant owner. He wants to drive up sales so he focuses on families. Now he changes the product over the years to try and accomodate that vision. From our joke of a mascot to the constant family push, Charles isn't interested in blood. He wants the game to be appropriate for 6 year olds. Hockey's the wrong sport for that vision.

it's comical watching him go post to post or even trying to get up off the ice. He gives them no shot tonight
- Vukota

They have almost no shot anyway. They needed that win last night and need to win Sunday. Throw DP to wolves tonight. Maybe we score 6. Not impossible after watching the last two games.

Carkner is playing approx: 13 mins per and is a plus 1. He's not hurting us.

Besides, he adds a big body to our back line.

As much as we complain about Finley. He's playing about 9 mins a game and is a minus 1. Hell. He'd be a star on last yrs squad!

But YES. I'd like to see Boulton and Hickey in the lineup tonight to.

Aint it the truth!

But kids dont spend $300.00 for seats!

So Wang had better start to see the writing on the wall.

Because. Although Nassau is a good spot for kids and families to attend games.

I think Brooklyn will be a bit different. Commuters and Corporate seats mostly. Looking for action.

I dont see Families making the trip by train on week nights to catch an Isles game. Weekends and holidays? Yes

he has to pass thru waivers...i think hed be picked up if that were the path the isles would go down with finley. he may just have to sit for awhile.
