Best game since the oilers flames home opener a couple years ago with eberle's classic!!!

The team seemed to play more energetic and play a "bigger game" But in the kings defence was weakend due to injury, don't mean to be a party pooper.

Maybe get a lil more grit for depth... but role with what we got and draft well.

Didn't watch the game. Also trolling Oiler fans is not amusing to us you've been on the bottom of the leauge for how many years now. Some canucks fans even feel bad for you guys and were happy for you guys to get real hockey.

What a POS comment, what has Vancouver done in the last 8 years other than lose in the finals? Most of the Vancouver fans on this site are of e opinion that winning the Presidents Trophy is something special, it doesn't mean a thing if you don't win the Cup. New rule. From what I understand from the tv announcers is that if your C is thrown out of the draw and you are offside on the ensuing face off (as Eberle was) then it is a penalty. New rule for this year (delay of game, I think it was called??). Pretty strange rule. Just like Smid's instigator with a visor on penalty also (2 minutes for instigating and 2 minutes for instigating with a visor on 4 minute PP for LA). Strange new rules for sure. Also Bettman just stepped up and mediated the new arena deal for Edmonton. Bettman haters need to take their heads out of their ass!

Yeah first I heard of it tonight too, TSN was showing examples of other teams getting nailed with it. Kinda slows the game down calling penalties for every little thing.

The concealing the puck one that Smid got is new this year. Vancouver got called for it the other night against the Flames too.

That's a stupid (frank)ing rule. What are you suppost to do, take off your helmet before you go after a guy.

Granted we are only three games in; but...

- Whitney has been the biggest disappoinment this year. Has looked absolutely horrid on many occassionl. Out of position, runnin' around, weak passes... for one who is supposed to be a pillar of stability he has been anything but. Safe to say he is playing himself off the roster come contract time.

- N. Schultz has not been great either... LA's first goal was a comedy of error and poor judgement.

- Hemsky is only dangerous when his feet are moving... anyone else get annoyed when he holds onto the puck on the powerplay only to force a bad pass?

- Fistric brought a nice touch of physicality... keep Potter away please.

- I would try Eager with Horc/Smyth... love the kid, but Harti has been largely invisible in my opinion.

- Smyttie looks gassed already.

- J. Schultz is going to make me lose my poop... fak he jumps up ALOT... God love him

- Our young players have been our best players... Kreuger has it right. Give them the miniutes and let them run with it.

That new rule should have been known to the Oilers. It's been called a few times since the season started back up.

Your owner pulls a stupid stunt and people have forgiven him. Bettman not only saves the oil but has helped change the look of Edm (if this arena deal goes through).

Show some respect to your new overlord.

N Schultz has had some bad plays last two games. The one you mentioned as well as going in the corner last game for the sharks second goal. His job was to cover the front of the net. I'm sure he will turn it around.

I hope nuge pops one soon. His goal scoring prowess seems a bit off but at least the playmaking is still there

Yeah, it's pretty dumb that he wouldn't have gotten the extra two if he had taken his helmet off first, but then again, a lot of guys do lose the bucket before they go. Not sure why they fought anyway. Nolan got the worst of that hit on Eberle, at least IMO.

EDM is gonna need to come back down to earth..
The oilers could come out cocky and defensively clueless again.
Point is, don't be getting your hopes up to high just yet. Same thing happened after the VAN game and it turned out ugly.
