The arena deal isnt an IF anymore, its a done done deal. City counsil voted it a go. - themizer
Banking on the province forking over 100mil isn't it? I don't see them doing that because then Calgary wants the money and then who's to say projects for new things in places like Medicine Hat or Red Deer shouldn't be funded? |

No. But it's still pretty bad. - Deadmau55
No one likes to see stuff thrown on the ice and there is no reason for it regardless of what was a horrible call. Thankfully they scored at the end and made things right. |

We will get ya next game... we will have Penner with us, so look out.
But in all seriousness your team looks (frank)ing scary. |

The team faced Quick and some refs tonight. That was the real game. There was some calls that were bad both ways but the Oilers faced the brunt of it. Smid's instigator? I can watch that again and again and that was two people squaring off. The double penalty at the start? I will give you the one but that was weak calling both. The face off start for Eberle was weak. If it had been a different game maybe but that start was so close to even that we are just getting picky.
The goal being called back? Did we get rid of the video? The ref announced he was in the crease? I didn't see him in the crease unless it is no longer that colored area. At least not when the puck went behind the net. I don't even care if he was pushed into Quick, it was Quick that was holding Gagner with his pad. Gagner tried to get away to get back in the play. We have all seen Sam play for years, he is not the type to sit on the goalie or interfere with him. Smyth maybe but not Sam.
I didn't see much from the kings that weren't handed to them by the refs, other than the one post by Kopitar. Quick was insane out there and his rebound control was silly good.
I am glad that Sam finally gets the credit I talk about, although you put the jab in there about the goal being called back. Don't forget about him being the one that set Yak up on the break away with that amazing pass. I am not even a huge Gagner fan but we got to stop talking about shipping this guy away for anything we can get. He was a solid player out there tonight and has a point in every game so far.
What needs to be talked about, eventually (not now) is how to polish up Whitney and ship him off while we can. He was our worst Dman out there tonight and that includes the forwards we used on the Power Play. He doesn't have the offense that Schultz does and I am not sure he can compete with Petry in a year. We need to get something for him before he is a UFA or he gets injured. I think the injury will probably come first. |

He is certainly in the top 3 in the NHL, as a fellow goalie...love his skill and how he plays. |

Had to be the most bizarre game I have ever seen. Neither team could get going because of all of the powerplays, and some of those calls... yikes. I was watching on a stream at my local Starbucks, and I was yelling through most of it. (Thank goodness the people there were hockey fans, they were yelling too as well)
What a ending though, I thought the entire Oiler team was going to do what Yak did, after that goal being disallowed. That had to feel great for us long suffering Oiler fans. Amazing effort, and I felt both goalies were tremendous.
What occurred to me though was that goal with 4 seconds left may be a huge turning point for the team. If we had lost that game, the team could have gone into the dull drums like they usually do, instead, they played hard for 60 minutes, and got the 2 points because they never gave up. |

You seen the terrible reffing going both ways. Can you really blame them considering the situation?

I'm in the business of constructing large infrastructure projects. I'll believe it when they drop the puck for the first game in the new building. |

Best player on the kings. Night in and out. He has shut everyone up, and still doesn't get the credit he deserves. I honestly feel bad for him sometimes. |

LOL, good point. Even if they get the shovels in the ground I still won't believe it either. |

The Canucks were one won away from the cup, then lost. Then rioted. Can you blame them considering the situation? |

No one is going to agree with you that throwing sh1t on the ice tonight was cool, it was stupid. What do you want from people on here? Appolgies on behalf of the idiots that were at the game tonight? |

I wish the kings had your offense, and I'm sure you wish the oilers had the kings defense, or goaltending. |

Edmonton went nutty when they went on a run in 06.
Fires. Vandalism. Idiots climbing traffic lights.
Cops cracked down HARD though well before the finals.

Doughty would be the perfect addition.
I think him and Hall and gonna battle it out for years.

A little bit of trash is not quite the same as burning peoples cars. This is typical Canadian hockey fans getting emotional over a sport they love. We were one win away from a cup in 2006 and lost, went home and cried a little after. However had we won, it might of been another story. |

Obviously two completely different situations... I think the frustration came in after calling it a goal, announcing the goal, inexplicably deciding it wasn't a goal after all, claiming that the player (Gagner), was in the crease (when he clearly was not), compounded by the scoreboard replay and the rest of the games officiating... it the was straw that broke the camels back. |

Don't even get me started on the riots that happen in L.A. Granted, no one has ever rioted over the kings... cause well, usually here the riots happen when you win. |

Hall banged Doughtys sister, and then forgot to call her the next day... that is the only conclusion one can draw. |
