What was the last trade that Shero ended up losing on? Ponikarovsky sucked, but all he cost was a career minor league and a waiver-bound Martin Skoula. He might have gotten worse in the Staal deal if Dumoulin is a flop, but Sutter looks damn good and is a better fit cap-wise.

No idea about the cap hit. His base is $925k, but they list a $425k bonus. I looked at a few players taken before or after him, and they seem to have higher bonuses, but no rhyme or reason that I can figure out.

He signed an entry level deal, which is $925,000. So I can only assume the rest is made up from bonuses. I am surprised it's that high though.
