Stop ... He isnt worth a good prospect or engelland and a pick. Bortuzzo And a fifth. Kid flopped in Edmonton last year and can't find his way in the lineup this yeAr - Oneonta Penguin
You can shrug it off if you want but Dallas knew Benn would be their future so they gave up Neal who has been nothing short of a star in Pittsburgh. Neal wasn't going to be the player he is there. Paajarvi won't maximize his potential in Edmonton. The Oilers need grit and a defensive attitude. They got smoked the other night and they'll continue to be smoked. Offense is all they've drafted and it's an issue. Look for them to deal a guy like Paajarvi for defense. He's a guy that WILL garner attention. The talent is there, it's just not quite around him. What is around him is just not mature. |

I like Paajarvi. I've said as much before. He is still very young and has some very gifted abilities. His speed is an asset and his hands are also quite good. He could be a star for a team like Pittsburgh in a short period of time. I am unsure if Edmonton would part with him for Bortuzzo or Engelland, but they do REALLY need defense. It could be worth a shot calling them for Shero. I also really like Kulemin. The Iginla and Teemu stuff is cute, it really is but no one here can legitimately think either would pick up and leave, even for a chance at a Stanley Cup. Iginla may be more inclined to do so out of the two but I don't see it. Teemu? It's Ducks or bust for him. - HopintheCordoba
Iginla would be awesome. But I could only assume the flames are asking for something ridiculous. Im really not a fan of giving up 1st round picks, unless it would be for like Ryan or Oshie |

Agreed. It'd have to be for a player with years on his contract. They would be pretty much ideal because they have years left and are bargains compared to some other talent. |

I'd say a conditional 1st if he re-signs with the pens, but I can only see that happening if its for around 5mil per and Martin's contract gets dropped.
I personally think Shero should wait until after Letang and Malkin are resigned before he takes a decent sized contract |

Won't argue with that, for sure. With around $10 million free they'll still probably keep their options open as the season goes. They can still potentially re-sign both of them and add someone. |

with tk off the book and some others, i think 5mil for letang for 7 yrs and geno takes 9mil for 7yr.. hell ill give geno 9.5 but i dont know if they will give him more then sid...
looking at cap geek, there are so many people coming off the books and or in the last yr of their contract.... |

The kid is either a healthy scratch or in the AHL for the worst team in the NHL for the last two years after a decent rookie season. Agree, he has no future there, but he still can't get any time. Hell, Tangradi is getting time for a much better team. You don't give up a top six defender like Engelland for him. You don't give up a quality prospect for him. You save those for an Iginla deal, not an MPV-S deal. Sorry ... he needs a change of scenary, but no one is going to give up much for a kid that can't find a place to play in Edmonton. |

Don't forget the cap is coming down 6 mil for 13-14. That's why I think Shero will wait before adding another big contract. |

Paajarvi would be a better fit with Malkin than Tangradi. He's got excellent speed and an offensive mindset but doesn't shy away from two way play. He just needs to decide whether he is going to be a shooter or a net presence. Plus Renney was using him wrong, he had him playing on the 4th line with Belanger and Eager and that isn't PRV's role. |

I'm a better fit with Malkin than is Tangradi. PRV needs a change of scenery and he is worth taking a flier on, but I would be totally against giving up a significant prospect, a high pick or a top six defenseman to get him. |

Idk, I don't think Engelland is a stretch, especially with Harrington and Morrow possibly making the roster next season |

Yeah, I could part with one of the tweener defensemen like Lovejoy, Engo (despite his pugulistic capabilities) Bortuzzo and players like that for PRV. Hell just trade Tangradi for him. |

The question is who is ready this year, if you trade him. We only have two physical blueliners - Orpik and Engelland and all the rest are puck movers. You don't have a physical presence outside or Orpik if you trade Engelland. |

True. But hopefully Harrington and Maatta turn into hard hitters |

A player who I have always liked is Hornqvist. Too bad the preds have no offense to trade him |

Benn finally resigned. 5 years at 5.25 mil per. Good deal for both camps. |

The funny thing about the Preds. While we look at them and say where is the offense, weren't they the fifth or sixth best scoring team last year in the NHL? I agree, I like Hornqvist too. |

You being near Edmonton can correct me if I'm wrong, but wouldn't Tangradi be a better fit for the Oilers as in third line, while PRV's supposed skill set is better for Pittsburgh? A change of scenery deal involving two projects, or suspects? Hell, I'd throw them Bortuzzo too - not like he has a future here either.

They lost a few people though. Now their offense is a little short. I'm not saying its awful, but not as deep as it was |

Tangradi and Bortuzzo for Paajarvi? Sounds like a Shero trade |

They really didn't lose a scorer that they had during the course of the entire season absent Suter's seven. Tootoo is gone - He scored 5 or 6; Gabriel Bourque is gone - he scored 5, 6, or 7; A. Kositizin is gone and he was a trade deadline guy and then the punk from Russia - Radulov and his 3. Not alot of goals left, really.

Brain strait is reminding me of a Scuderi type player, reliable that lets mark streit join the rush knowing he will have his back, and plays safe little mistake defense

I don't think Tangradi fits in the NHL. He has nice size, but I don't think he is better suited for the Oilers than Teemu Hartikainen on that third line. PRV would be a better fit with Pittsburgh with a center to carry the offensive load for him. |

Bourque is still in Nashville. He's been in the AHL, but was called up the other night. |
