Right now he is no better than a 3rd (at best) or 4th liner. Unfortunately for him, there are even guys ahead of him on the depth chart at that position. Makes you wonder how much value he has on the trade market (beyond not much) and if it is just worth seeing if he clears waivers at some point. - akane13
Other teams aren't blind. If they see a player gets only 4 minutes of ice time and does nothing well, they aren't going to go after him. The best the pens could do is either tack him on to a deal (only to dump his salary) or send him back down to WBS. If i were a GM I wouldn't even give up my 7th round pick. I'd assume the person I got in the 7th round will develope better than Tangradi |

Tangradi looked pretty bad, but so did the d as well. I thought fleury played ok and made some great saves. I also thought sids line looked bad as well. I think they need a winger for him and move someone to malkims line. |

I really like Joe Vitale, but I just don't see him as having enough offensive skill to play on Malkin's line.
I'm willing to give TK a shot, but there isn't anyone on the current roster who is a long term solution as our 6th top 6 forward. |

Agreed. I voted for "other" as there was no slot for Jeffery. - Emperor Filonius
I inexplicably left Jeffrey's name off the list. My bad. I guess I'm so used to the Penguins benching him that I did, too. The "other" slot is a good place to put him.
And from yesterday's blog, "longtime Penguins fans" does translate to being old -- or at least middle-aged.
On another front, very interested in seeing what the trade deadline brings. Hopefully there'll be more than a few sellers on the market, unlike last year. |

C'mon... I'm not saying that Tangradi will have a long NHL career, but what percentage of 7th round picks even sniff the NHL? Tangradi isn't a bad guy to have in your organization, a very good AHL player, and can play a bottom 6 role in the NHL.
I'd be surprised if he clears waivers... He's a big power forward, second round draft pick, and puts up good AHL numbers. Some organization will think that he could succeed under their tutelage and won't stink. |

You're right. He'd probably be claimed. Especially with injuries already piling up. |

How about Vitale on Malkin's line? I know he is a centerman but I like the spark he brings.
Nevermind... 15 other people beat me to it.. |

Seeing as I am a big MAF fan I thought I would go back and see if he had goals he should have stopped in last nights debacle.
The only goal he really could have been expected to stop was the snipe from VanReimsdyk (sp) so I wasn't particularly upset with his play. You can tell he wants to atone for last year, I dont see him get angry in net very often, well after the 5th goal he whacked his bottle off the net, most aggressive I have ever seen him after a goal.
I think he will be fine, maybe he should rip his teammates for hanging him out to dry and they might listen up. I think a rocket from their friendly goalie every now and then may send a message something is wrong with their play. |

I'm turning the big "40" in about a month, so that middle aged description fits me to a tee, lol.
I kind of doubt there is going to be much of a sellers market...with a short season, there's less time for the good teams to separate from the bad teams. Most every GM (outside of CBS) probably will feel like they have a chance of sneaking in this year. |

Put me in the Jeffrey camp. He's shown in the past that he can compete on the NHL level (although a small sample size). |

Could you imagine the chaos if we lose TWO games this year! - canadianpenfan
I fully expect them to lose another game. I just want to see 6 or 7 wins sandwiched between those 2 losses...

Tangradi did not play well, but its hard to be mad at a guy who played 4 minutes 30 seconds. Despres didnt even break the 9 minute mark. - Deadstar
He earned that few of playing mins cause he didn't score 10 goals the first two games of the season.... |

There have been many good 7th round picks and ones better than Tangradi. Wasn't Jefferey a 7th rd pick? Then again if we can get a conditional pick for sneep, them we could get something I guess |

Selanne is a player that would be perfect on Crosbys line. Not sure if he wants to move. He could be had pretty cheap i would think. Hemsky for a D prospect |

I'd say Paajarvi for a D prospect. Or maybe Bortuzzo/engelland plus a late pick |

Give him some experienced players and a good team. He needs to get out of Edmonton. I still vote for Ryan Clowe, but I think he may cost too much as well as many others. |

I like Paajarvi. I've said as much before. He is still very young and has some very gifted abilities. His speed is an asset and his hands are also quite good. He could be a star for a team like Pittsburgh in a short period of time. I am unsure if Edmonton would part with him for Bortuzzo or Engelland, but they do REALLY need defense. It could be worth a shot calling them for Shero. I also really like Kulemin. The Iginla and Teemu stuff is cute, it really is but no one here can legitimately think either would pick up and leave, even for a chance at a Stanley Cup. Iginla may be more inclined to do so out of the two but I don't see it. Teemu? It's Ducks or bust for him. |
