You are dead wrong on that one. The Canucks were more physical than the B's until Rome laid out Horton. That hit kind of woke up the B's, and the physicality of the series turned on it.
- golfingsince

Wasn't that game 1 of the SCF?

I can;t see. the throphy case is too full in Vancouver. You see, it gets opened so much, there is no dust on their accomplishments.
- Beatle_john

That was just pathetic.

Our accomplishments have no dust either. The cup is polished daily.

Lundqvist, Miller, Rinne, Ward, Kiprusoff, Quick, Price, Fleury, Lehtonen and Thomas (when he's playing). Hell, even Howard, Halak and Backstrom are more desirable.

He's 34, his contract sucks, he sucks and he's only going to get worse from here.

- Two_For_Truth

So essentially what you're saying is you can't name 10. Gotcha.

It is Ironic that fans like Systemtool tout the validation of the excellence of the Leafs while the banners are so old they actually needed to be replaced.

It's like rain on your wedding day.

- Beatle_john

and it's ironic that you guys need to spend your night in here trying to convince fans of another fanbase that not ever winning jack poop.. ever.. is more relevant than winning 13 stanley cups prior to 46 years ago. you believe in this so passionately, that you'll make it your lifes purpose to try to convince the leafs fans on a hockey forum, that score is in fact.. even.

it's pathetic. it lacks substance, and it screams of desperation. sit your kids down at night time and convince them that it means something, and i'm sure they'll go for it.

you guys don't need us, you can get your validation in other, less painful places..

Funny, Scott Stevens has statues created for him for the very same hit. Rome gets the largest suspension in the 10,000 year history of hockey.

So that 13-0 cup totals hurt you that much huh? Go play with your sparkly toy...it might be a Cup! No, its really not.

- systemtool

Don't forget about the beatdown that they took against Chicago, the year before. Byuflen pretty much was a one man wrecking crew. The Nucks still didn't learn their lesson and stayed a wuss team. They would have been better if they'd have signed Haley Wickenheiser(sp) to play for them. At least she'd have buried that little weasel Marchand, if he'd messed with the souless sisters.

I really don't want to open up the cup of worms with that series, but I would agree with that on the physical part, but that was part of the Canucks approach. PP was their strength...series was largely "let them play"...etc etc

It all started after that damn Rome hit.

- Mattjd123

Yeah it unwoken the beasts. Though that was one series i wish no team won. Now all Leafs fans hear about is how Seguin lead the Bruins to a cup.

Thats highly subjective. Ward? Kip? Really? Did yo just go down a list somewhere?
- Beatle_john

Yeah, really. Without Kiprusoff, the Flames are in dead last or at best just slightly ahead of the Oilers. Luongo had crap numbers on a 1st placed team.

Explain why he's being traded if he's such a great goalie?

Either he's not a top 10 goalie anymore or, by some dumbass logic, Schneider is suddenly a top 10 goalie and just happens to be higher on the list than Luongo.

So that is what they meant for "They have a position for Burke in the organization."

Dude better include Halak before guys like Kipper and Lehtonen and Price. Halak is better than Price.

Did the Bruins get murdered 8-1, 4-0 (twice) and 5-1?

Did the Canucks?

So essentially, I named more than 10 and you're going to ignore it because you just got your ass handed to you in a high hat.

Gotcha.

I don't know about Kipper but Halak is really good. And Price is good, but look at his playoff record? And he lead his team to worse than Toronto last year. That is saying something.

You see, this is where you lose all credibility. It was not the loss of Rome. It was the loss of Hamuis, who Rome would have picked up his minutes rather than Andrew Alberts but, of course you know all of that.
