actually.. i think the leafs are hooped.

just think the flames are worse.

you have one of probably 3-4 other teams in the entire league that can make us leaf fans feel all warm and fuzzy about things.

Isles can solidify goinbg into their new home and Jersey needs to replace Old Man Winter.
- Beatle_john

They have a few guys coming up that will be ready for next year.

Poulin, Nilsson, and Koskinen.

Not really intersted in Luongo.

Weiss for Luongo...rumour.

We don't. But our future looks a lot brighter than the Flames.

But hey,you should be excited. In 10 years, Mark Jankowski will win the calder.

Oh trust me, it wasn't just scrivens, forwards seemed to get the idea they were going to run up the score and would take off on our d-men. Our d-men weren't much better forcefeeding the puck up the middle and up the boards, basically whereever the Islanders stacked their forwards, the Leafs felt it was best to push the puck up that way. The first line was a joke, Bozak's gone back to thinking his only job is to feed Kessel the puck (no give and go's), oh and Kessel seems to like to unwind his shot even when he's on a bad angle. The Leafs woke up in the late third (after sleeping in the 2nd and half the third), almost scored to make it 6-5, Aucoin saved it on the goal line. Then when the Leafs had a 6 on 4, Gardiner went into automatic mode, and feed the puck to a covered dion instead of putting the puck down low where the Leafs had their forwards stacked. Bonehead play, like most of the plays that lead to Islander goals. How Phaneuf has two Islanders chasing him after he gives the puck away, and no leaf goes to cover the one Islander left alone in the slot (where were the other four), it was pathetic. Guaranteed Scrivens was guilty of watching the Isles going to beat the poop out of Phaneuf. Overall poop game....As for the constant lineup changes, I get the feeling that Carlyle is using the first bit to run a bit of a training camp....hence the shuffling of the d. Btw, what's the Leafs record with Komisarek in the lineup this season?
- mykokes

This is exactly what Phaneuf does. He is always out of position, takes on too much, goes for the big hit or tries to deal out retaliation. He is the easiest to get off his game just by chirping to him.

He should not be captain. He was only chosen as Burke could market him as a bigh canadian boy whose face looks good on a slurpee cup.

I do not rememeber Al MacInnis, Devis Potvin, Znedo Chara, Scott Stevens, Larry Robinson, or ANY other D-man of note ever break the arm of his own player. He is unfocused and wild.

He shot the puck and it hit Lupul. Not like he slashed his own player.

As for "This is exactly what Phaneuf does". You obviously haven't watched him that much.

Or you didnt even see what happened this game.

even though they're probably about 3 years late, they could still make a really good head start on it by shipping kipper alone.

to be fair, it was a matter of time.

the man has been playing in the nhl for quite some time.

he really needs to figure out where the net is. should practise with his golf swing (he's had enough opportunity for that to).. it's amazing how the ball goes where you want it to go when you ease up on the power, and tweek a few other things a bit.
