The true replacement for Lupul is Kadri. What the hell is he doing on their third line anyway? He was their best player last night getting the assist on the MacArthur goal that got the Leaf's offense going, and giving the Pens a hard time with him in their zone (drew BOTH penalties on their first five-on-three). I do give shouts out to Phaneuf and van Riemsdyk (JVR for being at the right place at the right time), but Kadri was really good.
Geez, they're so tentative with him as if he's doomed to fail. I say put him on the first line! He has great eyes, there's no reason he can't set up Kessel or JVR, both who can snipe goals. He's a better puck carrier than they are anyway. |

okay - so
Keifer is Taylor Hall,
Charlie is RNH,
Emelio is Yakupov,
who are the other three? - BorjeFan4Ever
I would say
Billy the kid (Emelio) is Eberle
Doc (Keifer) is RNH
Chavez (LDPHillips) is Hall
D ick (CSheen) is Hemsky (older guy, dies early)
Dirty Steve (Mulroney) is Yak
Charley (the noname guy who married the prostitute and whined and died when it mattered) is Gagner |

I'm thinking the Carlyle might be a little more focused on just such a let down... .
Wilson only cared about the pre-game interview... finding clever words to throw players like Kadri or Schenn under the bus. - BorjeFan4Ever
I don't think (hope) that RC won't let them fall too much in love with themselves. It probably helps that they have done well by playing a very disciplined game with strong defensive play. |

that's why Brown is around - clean up the teams who have no spine - like the Habs. Should have been Prust / Orr but Prust is a wuss. - BlowMonkey
Glad to see Orr exorcise his demon last night. Now, if we could get Komi to do the same to Lucic, we'd be on our way!! |

high risk high reward type of line, although they have been getting better, they still arent very defensively responsible.. you need at least one player on that line that is responsible in our own end |

i swear i go over this everyday
carlyle uses his third line as the secondary scoring line.. that was actually the line lupul was on last night when he got hurt if i'm not mistaken.
1st line primary scoring
2nd line primary shut down of opposition top line with secondary scoring
3rd line: secondary scoring line
4th line grit and character
thats the carlyle setup |

The goalie situation makes me a little uneasy...not sure why - senstroll
Its because we're not used having very good team GAA numbers...feels kinda dirty. |

the upside somewhat hidden in background here.... is that there's only one more atrocious contract to get rid of... and we all know who that is... - BorjeFan4Ever
ya and he's hurt with shoulder issue. i think it's the same should that knock him out a couple season ago.

RC will just make a comment to the media that Kessel and Phaneuf need to step it up, and boom 3G for 81 and 2G for number 3. book it. |
